when you see your first Agren squad, what do you do ?

upon seeing your first Agren squad, what do you do ?

do you build T1 and go for flaming scout cars
or
do you build t2 and go for maxim spam.

or is there another alternative.

i just found out that if german spam Agrens, they can have 3 out just after a soviet has 3 conscripts out.

I build t1 or t2 right at the start and 3 conscripts, scout with them for what units my opponent has and then get whatever counter I need. Against Agrens I a get Penal squad equipped with flamethrower or Sniper

Snipers work wonders, but if you already have T2 I don't fear. You can use the maxim and get to shocks quickly. Once you get shocks on the field Agrens have little chance. After that plan for the FHT.

At this point I am always building T1 or T2 as soon as the game starts as it counts towards elite infantry and it no longer seriously slows down Soviet builds.

Assgrens aren't that fearsome imo, they are easily countered by penals, shocks (just shred them to bits) snipers and maxim/mortars.

if there's only 1-2 ass grens it's best to get more cons, ass grens are lossing to 2 cons or 1 cons in building

If i see AssG on the loadout i tend to change my capping at the beggining so i dont have my units so spread out.

As Barton said, they lose on 2vs1 or when the Con is inside a house.

-If i see no T1 unit is definetely a FHT. Get your counters. In that case i like 3 Cons into T1 Flamer - Double Scout Car - Guard.
-If it´s a mix of T1 units with AssG just play as normally remembering not to face AssG 1v1 unless PPSH or vet cons.

thx guys.

i did not know that penals were a good match for agrens.

my main concern is when they go for 3 agrens and skip t1 & push for FHT.

with 3 agrens on the field, i would need 6 conscripts to take them on. with 3 agrens they are able to push me back pretty hard and capture alot of the map, which has me being on the defensive.

AssGrens players also likes to go some ass grens + grens + MG's into flamer HT, in that case it's best to get 5 cons + guards, and doc with Ppsh for cons

Be carefull about the advice of using penals.

Their option to use flames is good per se,but the problem is the low staying power of the penals. You got to monitor their health closely or you risk losing the whole squad in the blink of an eye. Plus the investment in a flamethrower.

And if there's something yo don't want to add to an AsGren blob, it'd be free flamethrowers....

I dont actually upgrade to flamers in most cases and never afainst Assgrens.

And yeah you gotta watch penals. Against most things. But if yiu match agrens wirh penal numbers its not really a problem agrens just die so damn fast to penal fire they cant really do there thing. I use penals in 90% of the games i win. I regret not getting them if i dont go shocks. Very rewarding unit if you got the micro and preservation skills to use them.

consolidating conscripts and maintaining range seem to work for me and a sniper to seal the deal.
