All I see is no point in talking with you further when you learn not to compare authenticity - IL-2, P-47 and A-10 with SU-25 and mechanics / balance how exactly they behave in the game.

You mean you can't answer my question. Why aren't they related? Go ahead, try to explain

You're just arbitrarily picking and choosing what matters to authenticity and what doesn't. You don't care about the actual performance of the units as long as they are named correctly. That's an extremely bizarre threshold to set, but you do you

I often hear people talk about vCoh because it had more light vehicle play. Should Coh3 really stretch out the early-middle game rather than rush out some I-win tanks?

Well the reason that Company of Heroes 1 had more light vehicle play is because the resource generation was different, manpower points were actually important and the focus was on overall map control vs just holding a single fuel point AFK turtling in the corner then shitting out 10 panthers for the win.

No, I explained this to you a long time ago. Authenticity is not equal to game mechanics, authenticity is not equal to hardcore or 100% reality.

I understand that's your opinion. But you still haven't given a reason for it

Once again, if the units don't behave at all like they did in real life, that matters to authenticity. Airplanes almost never recorded tank kills in ww2, yet it happens all the time in coh2

That's not authentic. Plain and simple. Just because the planes are named correctly doesn't make it authentic

Because the conventions of the game, the Company of Heroes are not Iron Hearts, there are no mechanical breakdowns, shitty metal that cracks from the projectile and all the huge fact that was present in reality. This is a simplified mechanic plus game balance, but it was authentic until the third part, it did not have fictional weapons / prototypes or weapons from the future.

But the planes behave like they are from the future. I'm just not sure why the existence of the BP bothers you so much more than planes being able to win games by killing tanks with auto-tracking

And....you're again comparing square and soft. You have an answer why authenticity and mechanics are not equal and you continue nonsense, I see no point in talking.

Lol you haven't given anything remotely close to a valid answer. Your threshold for authenticity is completely arbitrary and is based on your personal opinion. Whatever man, you do you

this is a variant of the phrase "compare warm and soft" which is the English equivalent of "compare apples and oranges".

Black Prince is probably so normies can have some cool big tank to make. And the brit faction in general is made for people new to the game that do not have micro yet. Their stuff is always OP and requires no management.

Question for me is should Coh3 have MORE giant tanks or less. I often hear people talk about vCoh because it had more light vehicle play. Should Coh3 really stretch out the early-middle game rather than rush out some I-win tanks?

sad but true

Why is your only threshold for realism whether or not the unit existed? That's such an dumb cutoff for deciding what's accurate or not

Did stukas and hawkers exist? Sure. How often did they kill or even damage tanks? Almost never. It was so rare that it's not even worth mentioning as a reliable option. And yet they do so reliably in coh2

How about soviet AT overwatch? Are you going to tell me that because it's possible for artillery to kill tanks that means that an ability which rains down shells on tanks with perfect accuracy is realistic?

You not given a single reason why these things aren't related. You just say they aren't and expect people to agree

Not only are you completely stubborn, but have 0 serious knowledge of ww2.

In fact tanks died alot from artillery barrages and that's the main reason allies pushed through armored SS battallions during the Normandy Landings in 1944:

OKH never allowed for truly flexible defenses to be manned and as a result they had tanks roaming around North France to reach the frontline where they got picked up by naval artillery barrages. It is estimated that around 1k tanks lost or got ultra damaged this way. So yeah, it happened quite often.

Also, P51 mustangs, IL2 and Stukas could rape the fuck out of every medium armor in existence. Especially the P51s.

I would suggest starting with the normie books: D-Day by Beevor and moving on to more hardcore stuff. You seem intent on proving everybody wrong that you miss the facts.

You still haven't given a good reason why those things aren't related. Like I said the planes in ww2 behave way ahead of their time

Your mention of future planes is perfect, the accuracy of stuka/hawker/p47 AT ability is extremely exaggerated in this game. But you have no problem with it simply because the planes are named correctly? That makes no fucking sense at all

I get the impression that you are purposefully retarding yourself just to win this one.

Nobody is saying COH2 is WW2 simulator, that's absurd.

It is though heavily realistic and just "arcadizes" the boring parts.

If you want to make the comparison, think about this: most plane missions in WW2 could last hours as recons and 1 hour max fight times. That means that if the game was "realistic by your standards" it would have planes flying all over the place until they find a target. The design team decided to make this more player friendly and allowed short airplane barrages to just pass by. THat's not unrealistic, that's simplifying a boring part, and a vital piece of entertainment.

Absolutely true that's why I was one of the first ppl to congratulate lelic on bringing back manpower points.
