This thread is surely classified as spam? What next, we dive into a deep discussion about Cold War propaganda of the COH2 Soviet campaign? Or Admiral King's blatant anti-British racism that got his men and ships killed?

the coh2 soviet campaign is closer to something that nazi germany's Goebbels would create, which to be fair is the entire basis of cold war (and modern) propaganda

In fairness: Apparently the actual man hours and material cost in RM was identical between a Panzer IV and Panther. Furthermore, sure, Germany could build four StuGs to a Tiger, but could they man them? Could they fuel and oil them? Though I suppose there's an argument to be made given parts shortages (to the point of units literally fighting each other to get parts for their vehicles) that it'd be better to have four StuGs worth of spare parts.

And more:

imagine a country which is bombard everyday and night and sourrounded by the half world and has low ressources at all and is in fight over whole eruope, north africa, pacific, atlantic and asia...

and is able to produce in every department of weapon class mostly the best of the best product.

which was able to beat in most cases the allies counterpart product in most fight consterlation easily.

remind you that germany fight with something like 50k tanks overall vs around 300k tanks.

yes a panther had its weakpoints...but it was able to fight whole tank companies by itsself often with much less losses.

Alright. After 75 years we can finally stop debating on this matter. This 31 minute long youtube video is all we need to know. Thanks for sharing. He fucking owned these Wheraboos.

Can someone close this thread, please? This has neither something to do with the game, nor is it good researched.

No offense, but don't you have better things to do than make such pointless threads?
Again, no offense.

Spoiler: Stalin and the Soviets were, in fact, evil.

the campaign does not have stalin as any sort of relevant figure within the game

the campaign features a story plot that is completely made up to portray the soviets as an Asiatic horde of uncivilized savages, who only won the war because of their endless numbers and their complete lack of regard for human life. this IS NOT "oh the commies were akhully evil thus campaign is woke", this is spitting in the face of those who gave their lives away in order to defeat the most evil regime in Europe

Not only is a lot of the game fictionalized propaganda, but Isakovich is a pussy and should've shot himself

USSR gave little to no crap for live of their soldiers and citizens, especially during early stages of the war. Actually in campaign the whole SOV power structure was portraited as evil, not the soldiers. But Relic, instead of investing time learning history and facts, they invested time in watching "Enemy at the Gates"... So they pretty much did a disservice to how actually violent USSR was by painting it as simple dumb evil.

they obviously gave a shit their own people, asides from the virtue of fighting a war for their entire existence, examples like the siege of leningrad and many other evacuation attempts show that they did care. their military actions in the early war were acts of desperation to stop an enemy who exploited the incredible blunders of the early red army.

showing brutality and cruelty of a regime is fine, they did fucked up shit, fucked up in the war and so on. But, the campaign does not do this, they focus on making the regime appear so evil, that they make up completely debunked and non existing scenarios, like being shot if you merely look at the commissar, being sent to battle without a rifle intentionally, you burn your own soldiers with flamethrowers, shoot them with machine guns, execute them FOR WINNING ENGAGEMENTS, no tanks no aircraft no rifles, but you win the war anyway? And also send them into fortified enemy positions without said rifle.

even funnier because they made the American troops heroic for charging into fortified machine gun positions. If you're going to make the protagonists as villains, do it right, the russians will spit on you for this campaign

If you want to have some insight what USSR was like to its people, read about Konstanty Rokossowski or Ieronim Uborevich. Both Soviet Generals one became a legend, the other was shot.

Also I highly doubt that regime executing its citizens by the thousands and thousands and going as far as creating artificial famine, is one that could be described as "caring for its people". Yes, there were great generals and honorable heroes, men who fought for survival of their people, but have no illusions about the USSR "establishment" and its Communist Party.
