Speaking about historical inaccuracies, lets add more.

Small update:
USF M3 halftrack is now armed with an 1919a4 mg
UKF M3 halftrack is now armed with an Vickers K mg
Soviets M5 Halftrack is now armed with an Dshk
Soviets M3A1 Scout Car front MG is now a Dshk
The 250 halftrack's is now armed with an MG34
The 221 is now armed with a MG34
Stug's Pintle mount is now an MG34 and its range is set to 45. This way it has better contrast from full 360 mounts of the other tanks.

Ostheer's supply center now has 4 separate vet upgrades. Three for infantry, support weapons (does not affect captured weapons), light vehicles (affects stugs), and Tanks (does not affect stugs).

Volksgrenadiers were never issued mp40 in place of stg44.

Volksgrenadiers generally fought very well, the big difference being in a lack of officers in volksgrenadier divisions, not in quality of recruits, and the fact that 1 or 2 of every 3 squads were equipped with stg44 instead of kar98.

TO&E of a volksgrenadier company
https://www.battleorder.org/volksgrenadiers-1944
2 assault platoons, with:
- 2 assault squads x8 stg44
- 1 fire group, with x5 stg44 and x3mg42
1 rife platoon wit:
- 3 rifle squads with x1 mp40 x6 k98 x1 mg42

if you want a unit that was equipped with mp40 in the whermacht, Jaegers shoud be the ones depicted using them, as all jager divisions had the following to&e for their infantry:
7 mp40, 2 k98 (ammo bearer/rifle grenadier) and a mg42/34
Some jager divisions were issued stg44 for trials

There is often a gap between what the official table of organization and equipment calls for and what they can get their hands on, especially for the Wehrmacht late in the war. It is true they were supposed to arm most Volksgrenadiers with Sturmgewehrs, but they didn't have that many Sturmgewehrs, and other divisions of the Army plus the Waffen-SS also wanted more Sturmgewehrs. What this meant was substitutions were needed, which meant using more Submachine Guns as filler.

The waffen SS never received large quantities of sturmgewhers
MP40s were never issued in stead of mp44s. If not enough stg44 were available, one Sturm platoon was replaced by a rifle platoon.

This is because the stg44 was intended to replace the k98, and could do that due to its decient range. But the mp40 did not have enough range to replace the k98.
for regular infantry MP40s was issued 1 per squad to officers to help in final assaults on trenches etc., after the k98s and mg42s had pinned down the enemy.

The exception were the Jagers who were issued 7 mp40 per squad as they were intended to fight in rough terrain like dense forrests and swamps where engagements were close range
