Why does a unit clearly intended for cqb (m3 grease guns, 2x thomplson upgrade) have at satchels?
If it's supposed to be an at unit, why does it have close range weapons?
If it's supposed to be a cqb unit, why doesn't it have grenades/garrison clearing ability?
Proposal - make them into assault section clones. 5x grease guns, 2x thompson upgrade that grants access to WP grenade. Get pineapples with tech like normal rifles.

They are aggressive support for light vehicles the AT satchel let's them keep these vehicles safe and also allows them to scale. It also makes them unique. They don't need to be a boring clone when they can be something useful and unique

Without the utility from smoke nades and AT satchel, the unit would be utter garbage. Its a 1cp unit that needs to spend 70mun to have more dps than assault engineers and it's also the only CQC unit that still has around 1 target size (and no armor like shocks) at vet 1.

Already have assault engineers, rangers, and paratroopers. All 3 of those can be Cqc and have garrison clearing
I think making them like assault tommies would effectively be a nerf. The AT satchels are a strong ability

One give the unit what ever one likes from bazookas, to Thompsons, BARs. The AI weapon of AT unit is not that important.
As satchels imo there should not do engine damage with one shot.

They would be borderline useless with out at satchel exaxtly the way it is. They also get shitted on by simply focus firing them already. They are good at countering unsupported mg,s dropping them off with the jeep, but overall they are lackluster. The at satchel at least gives them some late game utility.
Imo they should come out at T0 with thompsons and at satchel locked behind 1 cp. idt it would hurt for them to get some kind of armor vet bonuses to make them more combat viable later game, right now late game they cant do much and putting bars on them only feels like it makes them worse.

They are not really a true CQC unit. They get shredded fairly easy in CQC by stuff like Panzergrens even Assault Grens. They are primarly a vehicle support unit as was mentioned so they work well in the back of an M3 HT or WC51 but not as much on their own. When used with vehicles the satchel is great for tossing it on an attacking vehicle allowing your HT or WC51 to retreat. Honestly putting Bazookas on them dedicating them to AT might work better than trying to use them as a CQC unit. I haven't really tried it though.

USF doesn't need anymore nerfs. Using Jeep + Cav is a good way to counter Axis heavy tanks when being ambushed. It's a nice crutch when axis players have plenty other crutch designs that can be easily abushed
