Is the upgrade worth it? Is it an improvement at all ranges and for all situations?

What are the DPS stats on regular PGs and what are the DPS stats on PGs upgraded with the G43?

If u want to fight at close range - NO
mid range and long range? - 100% yes ... its super strong unit spexially when u pick it with commander which allow you camo+sprint ability ... For me its best infantry in the game with this combo ... Once they reached vet 3 they are almost unstopable .... So yeah depends on map but mostly worth it :)

The upgrade is great not because it increases DPS but because it increase DPS on the move. This is one of the few units with great DPS on the move.

Yes its absolutely worth it

Vetted g43 pgrens are crazy strong. Damn close to being OP in my opinion, but they can be handled with any vehicle

Both coh2db and the updated site have the StG 44 DPS at far range at a much lower value (1.054 at range 35) and the G43's slightly higher (4.1), meaning that the G43s would have a huge long range advantage over the StG 44. They also have the G43 at slightly higher close range DPS (13.2), which would further decrease the gap in close to mid range performance.

I wouldn't pick a commander just to get G43 on PGs but if you have it available and muni for them, go for it.

It's no longer a meme upgrade.

Coh2 stats site (https://coh2.serealia.ca/) shows the stgs pump out more damage than the G43s at all ranges up to 25 when stationary. But the G43s suffer little to no penalty while firing on the move. So if you're closing with the enemy (Brit sections, Guards, etc) then the G43s will be a considerable improvement in dps. If you're dealing with infantry running at you (Bar riflemen, shocks, ppsh cons) then I wouldn't bother upgrading with the upgrade, and I'd stick to just giving them camo.

The upgrade is completely worth it. Makes the dps curve of pgrens so much easier to use. The chase down DPS and extra sight make it an automatic upgrade if you're floating munis.

G43 can also feel more "bursty" in dmg.

If you want to check on the move performance https://coh2db.com/stats/ still works. Just double click the profile of a weapon.

Do we know if this comparative 'burstiness' is due to differences in the ways that stgs/rifles spread damage across a squad? If G43s reliably drop single models faster that's a big bonus.

I am not sure that it has the correct G43 values for PGs. The weapon was buffed recently.

The values do seem to match those in the changelog.

I should had specify.
The weapon curve is the same, what changes is the values in the graph. The new stat sites doesn't compare on the move performance.

Only when comparing with other weapons it would matter. You can still visually see the difference in DPS loss when on the move or static on the old site.

Do we know if this comparative 'burstiness' is due to differences in the ways that stgs/rifles spread damage across a squad? If G43s reliably drop single models faster that's a big bonus.

The latest discussion done implied that the stat: focus fire false means that if possible, the unit would sometimes fire at adjacent models.

The minor aspect of "burst" is high dmg value. You could have 2 weapons with the same DPS and have one doing 8dmg per bullet and the other doing 16. They would both achieve the same result on avg but the one with higher dmg would get more variance.
