Turn a specialist into a generalist when there’s already 2 on the roster (Tiger and P4)? Horrible idea.

Though your IDEA of an "armored firefly" Panther runs into the problem of hull down 75 range non doctrinal tank destroyer.

Except it doesn’t cuz you can adjust the hull down bonuses for each vehicle.

Tiger is doctrinal so it is not "on the roster".

Actually part of the problem with T4 is that provides only expensive specialized units and it would be a much better option if it provided a "main battle tank". That could be achieved either by making Tiger stock (and Panther doctrinal) and adjusting it to be more Comet or by allowing the Panther a dual role possibly with switchable rounds.

Eeeeeeh T4 is a specialist tier so it’s best if it stays that way. With the Brummbar buff if the Panther gets a good uptick the whole Tier could potentially see a lot more 1v1 action. Panther going generalist would obliterate the P4 from the meta.

Really, would it really be ok to give the panther 4% range bonus in hull down. + how would that help ost when skipping T3 and going straight into T4.

Can you elaborate why the Panther should be considered a specialist?
Should a specialist not be, well, be special in 1 thing...
Ahh i got it, you mean the horible moving accuracy, thats truly special.

Besides that have you ever thought about how stupid it is to seperate P4, Panther and Tiger? Because the last time i read wehrmacht files all 3 were considered MAIN BATTLE TANKS.

Problem on axis side: you have no good tank to spam for both: AT and AI

If you spam panther...you will struggle hard in AI...some AT will easily deal with panther...while allies have so good generalist...take the comet: perfect. You can spam it and will end in very good AI which wipe AT in no time and have good chances vs armor...

Is AEC a specialist?
Is Puma a specialist?
Is StuG a specialist?

They all have limited AI capability.

Also, you're not living up to your nick here.

Oh, and MAYBE you should read less wehrmacht files and more that one PC RTS game called CoH2 patch notes?

Read the patch notes, the Panther is a heavy tank counter.

Yes it would be.

The solution to that is simple: Don’t skip T3.

T4 is not a "specialist tier", it just a tier, stop making thing up.

You mean like Comet obliterates Cromwell? The design is already so there would be very little problem.

But not very cost efficient in its "role" as heavy tank counter.

Which is why I suggested a small uptick in performance.

Hmm, specialized rocket arty, a tank hunter with some limited AI capability and an infantry killer who can damage, but can't hit vehicles

It certainly would obliterate brummbar from being ever considered for anything.

But not very cost efficient in its "role" as heavy tank counter.

It is very cost efficient, axis simply have better options in form of JT and ele.
If we nerf JT and ele, panther will be much more appealing.

To be fair the AEC does suck in AI the hardest among these.

That's funny you say that, because it has highest MG DPS and equally bad AI gun as others.

I think that sums up pretty much your knowledge about units and their roles and performance.

armor bonus is not enough

how about adding twin 88mm cannon to panther?

I don't wanna make panther OP, just be able bounce shots from TD's at max range.
