One shotting everything, every time we get close to them they just retreat. Over half their kills from mortars.

"COH2.ORG: You've previously stated that mortars are your favourite unit. Could you be found hanging over the devs' shoulders 'encouraging' them to make them more OP?
Quinn Duffy: Haha. No. I just like the presentation of mortars. But I think the reality is if we built our battlefields in keeping with traditional tactics and doctrines there would be such a preponderance of artillery and fire support that things would get messy. A typical Soviet Mortar Company would use roughly six 82mm mortars firing somewhere between 15-20 rounds each to support an attack on an axis roughly equivalent to the width of the Moscow Outskirts map. You want OP? We haven’t seen OP."
Thanks for making a fun game.

Hate to say, but the German leh18 105mm howitzer is the most powerful arty in the game, cool down between 2 barrages is only 25s, while soviet 152mm has a cool down of 90s (they have the same range)
and German nerberwelfer can kill, and still got it shorter cool down 30s than what is katyusha 60s.
they are all broken as the way 120mm does

watched the replay, the only arty weapon you build is only one mortars, there's no ranged support weapon in your team, which is somthing to be considered. you may need to try the leh18 next time. I play 2v2 german excursively during close beta and after release... leh18 is too good to miss
NO? Soviet snipers is the thing gives me the headache, not the 120mm mortars

In order to head off your retort of "nice thoughtful reply /sarcasm" or something akin to that I'll just say that your examples are simply not feasible nor do you take into account the current meta game which traditionally finds the soviets having loads of excess mp on hand in team games.
First, neither of us went arty doctrine in our fancy pick 3. I didn't have it even selected. I guess that's our bad? I don't see it used very often in games though.
Second, T4 from the Axis is about useless (save for the nebelwerfer) because the panther/brumbar is god awful, and we needed the dual T3 to combat the massive soviet advances and the mortars out-ranging and destroying any infantry, paks, mgs, etc. Also, the blizzard completely limited infantry movement...not so much for the soviets considering they just camped in their base with mgs, at guns and then sat behind their op late game su-85s.

Yes, none of you or your mates were considering having a ranged arty support is indeed put yourself into a disadvantage,if you don't even bother to give it a try the leh18 105mm howitzer as my humble suggestion...or nerbelwerfer
BTW, thanks not to abuse the strafing run though

Haven't watched the replay as it sounds like a snooze fest, but 6 120mm mortars is a hell of a lot of manpower, and very vulnerable. You should have gotten scout cars or a flammenwerfer and punished the shit out of it.
Also, artillery of your own is not good enough versus more than 1x120mm mortar, the above is the "counter", that or an Ostwind, but the Soviets would be more likely to field hard AT by then.
If you respond "LOL SOVIETS JUST AT NADE FROM MILES AWAY", you need to re-evaluate how you are playing this game.

German Arty fires 12 shells and barrage recharge counts since first shell fired, soviet arty fires only 8 shells and yes, recharge is longer, german have 90 secs and soviet like 120 secs? i dunno

I rechecked that, acutally soveit ML-20 needs 130sec cool down between 2 volleys, and german one needs 25sec(WTF), only few first shoots matters, and German one fires more, though soviet one do 33% more damage.

I haven`t noticed anything wrong about those mortars, yeah they did a lot of damage, but there were a lot of investment in them, and they dont 'one shot' everything since they are very inaccurate. If you want to argue that they destroy bunkers, MG`s, at guns - well, then thats what mortars are supposed to do, destroy static defence.
And overall I havent seen any domination in game, there was a lot of bouncing back and forth for both teams.
