If Hitler would just let Russia help him taking all the other lands before attacking Russia.. he would most likely have won the war! Hitler must have been drunk when taking that decision.. Great story though!

Downfall is one of the best WWII movies. Saving private Ryan and Band of Brothers just suck compared to it.

Band of Brothers is just the most unrealistic series i've ever seen in my life. Just a group of guys running around killing a bunch of elite SS without almost taking a single casultie.. They would all have been slaughtered irl. 3/6 overrated movie if you go in the depth.

Not sure what series you have been watching..
BoB is based on real stories from veterans of the 101st AB division 'Easy' Company. All written down in a book by Stephen Ambrose (Who wrote some other books about WW2 aswell). Ofcourse the creators (Spielberg and Tom Hanks) had to make it fit for a TV-show, but the stories are based on real life events.
You are obviously referencing to episode 5 where they (accidently) attacked a whole company of Germans and completly caught them off guard. After the fight they clearly says that they had several wounded and 1 casualty. Besides that, BoB is more then just about 'shooting krauts' as you try to put it. Maybe you should pay more attention when watching it next time

I know it was made up from what those ex-soldiers said what happend..
I liked it untill some random guy named "Richard Winters" ran up a cliff with his M1 Garand and started shooting at the rest of a whole SS division.
IRL:
1. He would never made it up that cliff in the first place because the germans were not russians and were smart enough to set up guards.
2. Lets pretend he made it up that cliff: before he even had fired off one shot he would most likely have catched a few shots from each of them between his eyes.
In the movie: Instaed he stood there for like 1 minute before the rest of his buddies showed up. They started a gunfight which also lasted for like 2 minutes before the US artillery appeared. They killed like 70 germans and lost ONE guy.
That was just ONE of the lame scenes.

Once again, I'd suggest you watch the episode again. Gonna try to explain this to you why they managed to take down a whole company of SS.
The germans didn't have guards set up on that position for the following reason: They were preparing for an attack. They were going to hit Easy's HQ few miles up ahead (Colonel Sink says that right after the battle to Winters). That means they weren't expecting an American attack coming from there. It caught them totally off guard at first, that's why they didn't fire on Winters right away. Ofcourse they made it a bit more dramatic in the TV series, with Winters standing there heroically on a dike firing off krauts. Pretty certain it didn't go exactly like that IRL. After that the Germans clearly panicked, thinking a big US attack was coming. And started to retreat through the open field, making it a proper turkey shoot. That's why they took down a whole company.
Hope you get it now. But lets stick to the topic here

BoB is from american point of view. You have connected with the main actors emotionally and thats why you want them to survive. The faceless enemy can die by hundreds if this serves the story. It may be based on real events, but its not historically accurate. Remember its just a movie.
I guess such discussions come up again and again, because of the american hero propaganda in every damn movie, which becomes annoying.
However BoB did show some scenes of american war crimes too at least. I guess the audience becomes mature and is not susceptile for propaganda anymore.
Back to topic:
The story was nice to read, but sadly too short. I once did read the story about the last Kingtiger crew, who told about their experience defending REichstag and their attempt to escape the pocket. In the end they needed to blow up their own tank.

Lemme explain this, can I? good, so.... after "Great Purge" made by Stalin, almost all good and experienced generals were killed or been imprisoned, in 1941, when Germans were attacking there haven't had many generals on soviet side able to lead and command the army, you think that Soviet party cared about their people, maybe Stalin? They just used simple propaganda, who's not fighting, he will die, their families too or send them to Siberia. That's why Stalin send NKVD commisars on the front, killing deserters etc.
Battle of Rzhev - soviets taking sth like 1 million casualties, why? because some retarded idiot were attacking Germans positions from the same direction like 5 times? they never managed to do anything, but one day someone said "hey, let's attack from right/left flank maybe?" and germans have been defeated in 2 hours. this shows that Soviets never had good generals except maybe few.
