What do you do when an entire community freaks out about having to pay for new commanders? You implement a brand new system that grants you free commanders without having to pay. Then you make the system suck so hard that people start getting frustrated. Voila, you now have your free pass to sell commanders again. Because you listened to the community, people will thank you. Win/Win.


War spoils is simply stupid. Releasing war spoils and then quickly releasing commanders that you have to pay for is pathetic.

I'm in the camp that Relic should make all commanders free, unlocked and only aesthetic items are purchasable. Most successful FTP business models are like this.

After the responses from Noun - particularly in respect to the plan of "Limited Timed Use" DLC/War Spoils - It's obvious that they didn't learn from the failure of OCOH.

I'd love to see the statistics on how many Commanders have been won in the Spoils system - not just the cosmetic or bulletins.

Well as far as we're concerned Relic did not make any mistakes. They released a feature that got people itching to buy something, then put something on sale. People literally bought something that can very well be given for free, however rare the drop would be.

that is wrong. it would probably require 1200hours + to get all the new commander. assuming you played 300-400 hours, you are likely to get one or 2. id perfered you just sell them

A quick solution for the duplicates: Military Research Center.

How would it work?
- exchange 1 item of x rarity for a random new item of the same rarity
- exchange 2 items of x rarity for a random new item of higher rarity

This would definitely help with RNG a bit and give you a better shot at obtaining items you want.
