Through knowledge comes power, and through power come nerfs. Excellent work Hector.

From my part, I would advise against using the barrage ability until WBP hits. Mortar Pit barrage is currently bugged and actually reduces the damage output of the pit.

That´s also one of reasons why I created this guide. If players start using "cancerpit" properly, we will able to determine how much overperforming it is and thus nerf it if needed.

Personally I love seeing Mortar Pits, they cause rage, which is always fun to see in game.

The mortar emplacement's main use is NOT to wipe squads or to bleed your opponents heavily.

Is this a joke?

I still believe replacing the mortar pit with a mobile mortar and transforming it into a garrisonable emplacement is the best way to go, instead of just nerfing it.

Baiting people into using it so sort of a good strategy I suppose, a sneaky one but if it gets results...

this protip guid doesnt say about:
- Forward retreat point giving garrison bonus to mortar pit/bofors
- best way dealing with it
- best way to defend it
- when to and when NOT to use brace ability
- when it's good to build/not build mortar pit

conclusion: very bad guide :snfBarton:

why not go ahead and write a better guide then?

anyway, good read and solid strategic advice that will probably get handy if i ever start playing brits.

This guide wasn´t aimed to axis players, it was aimed for UKF players to help them with mortar pit.

Best way of defending it is there, if you read guide carefully, you will know what units to build. Also where you should spread your forces in order to keep it alive.

I said that brace should be used when thing get hard (tank rush, heavy artillery firing...) but not when single/ 2 mortars are firing on it. Actually I don´t know what else you can write about that ?

I already said why you want to build mortar pit - when there are many buildings, enemy is dig in and you need to move him. Also it is almost always better to get mortar pit if you´re not planning sniper, because you need some kind of garison control (if you lack flamer doc ofc)

Awesome guide. I like how you also gave suggestions on where to put mines to protect the pit. I don't use the mortar pit or mines as much as i should and with this knowledge Ill be sure to make more use of them and the mortar pit.
