The panzer HQ which is placed in road to kharkov , i dont think it's in a good spot , it can easily be destroyed by an AT gun that can be set up down the road .

Kharkov is Kind of a bad map for a perfectly placed schwerer HQ that can actually cover important points without being exposed to some sort of fire. You just have to react to the AT Gun fire with units from nearby battlegroup HQ and repair any damage you do manage to sustain. Same with crossing in the woods or minsk.

If its 2v2 then it is infact a safe spot. Matter of fact the schwerer from that spot can fire on AT guns on the road that are firing at it,and if you're too far down the road its not accurate enough to hit it enough to cause panic. I'd assume the field on its flank would be under your control as well

Its always placed there or where the Command panther is when I play against it and with it in 2v2.


if you want it to cover something(which it should do) then it has to be vulnerable in some sort of way. you just want to minimize how vulnerable it is as much as possible. Assuming you(and your teammate?) focus the top side of the map around the fuel and top/middle VP I cant see how an AT gun can kill your HQ from that red cover road unopposed and with ease unless its a full blown siege.

Imagine yourself in you enemies position, hard to kill but annoying to ignore :). for the road to kharkov id have placed the Panzer HQ a bit farther back on that road so only AT guns on the open road can hit it but it still covers the cutoff point. The AT guns want to be able to shoot at the building from a safe location OR at least have a safe retreat. If you can place it in a spot that gives the enemy neither then its in a good spot.

Or an alternative (more conservative) way to use the schwerer HQ, is to have it covering your native VP, and concentrate all your forces at the other one. This way it totally prevents any kind of harrasment, and if the enemy decides he wants to try take it out, he will have to send a decent sized force all the way accross the map to do so, putting him in a position to get cut off and surrounded by your main force.

Am I the only one who thinks that the med truck placement on angoville shown in this guide is terrible ? Other than that it's a good article.
