If only rear echalon could place AT mines |
I think tank traps should be feasible gameplay element. I built some with the community commander. It takes ages to build. It takes two shots from a PIV to destroy and then roll past.
Seriously?
That commander. Cheap AP mines triggered by armor. Tank traps stop nothing. Wtf relic? Nothing works! |
I've seen a lot of OH players have success with assault grenadier doctrine (forgot the name of it).
Actually OST beats USF with that nasty Puma doctrine. Mobile defence?
Puma is a great counter for USF paper armor tanks. |
I think he meant LeFH 105mm
Yes, I did.
Actually Fortune did not bother to get much armor, I think he got a stug or a p4 which I destroyed with my Jackson.
Fortune just saw I was using airborne and went for LeFH howitzer which I could not counter. |
I dont see Steam gaining anything if coh2 goes free 2 play |
?
No, they just don't, no offence, but you are operating in the realm of outright fantasy here. Assgrens, seriously? They make winning the first engagement feasible if your opponent doesnt make it to a house, thats about it. Anything centered around Relief inf/Howie, you might as well just quit and spare youself the pain.
The StuG-E/Tiger combo or on large open maps the Ele might win games against US. None too often though, as you will have already lost/be boxed into your base sector before they even appear. A good US player has all the tools to deliver inordinate pressure in the early game and follow it up with a Sherman at 5 cp, and that will be that.
Who is operating in fantasy realm here?
I had an automatch 1 v 1 against Fortune (OST) and I went for airborne, he responded with ost onfield howi and thats was it. I had no counter to his arty.
I tought I had him early/mid game, but when the first shells landed on my retreating rifles the game became an upphill battle for me.

I don't think that ost is the worst faction, grenadier lmg42 is good against usf rifles and of course tiger is god damn good against their tanks.
Thats what I was saying. Just upgrade grens with lmgs, keep em alive and rifles are done.
Thats unbalanced as grens with lmgs outperforms rifle bars while grens are cheaper and BARs require fuel/manpower to upgrade.

Jacksons cant even do a scratch to jagdpanthers front armor. You have to do at least a slight flank to do a penetration, a good flank if you want to kill it, but thats problematic as there will be a volk shrek squad a-moving and thats enough to pull the jacksons out. One hit from a shrek and one hit from JP and Jacksson is done. |
So did I, so what? There have been alot of crass imbalances throughout the history of the game, one way or another, and now OH has the short end of the stick. Alot has changed since WFA release... OH has been nerfed considerably across the board, it is extremely unforgiving to play - not only against US by the way - and on certain maps this is strongly exarcerbated, Semois, Kholodny Winter, La Gleize etc.. You can pretty easily lose the game through not much fault of your own already once the M20 hits the field. Play 15-20 games of OH 1s in this patch, and I will assure you you'll be tempted to rip your hair out afterwards. Conspam, Vet 2 rifles straight off the bat, etc. etc..
The old ost strats still deliver a punch: assgrens on stalingrad, agressive halftrack + grens with lmgs combo VS usf, relief inf strats, onfield howi and double pak40 wins games vs USF. |
The only Panther in the game that can self spot with out upgrades is the Command Panther. And the Panther isn't a TD, it's a Tank Hunter.
Tank what? |
