Why all the hate for this? You don't mind the idea of two different German armies? I would think adding ONE faction to balance only against Ost would make much more sense.
Now you have to balance US vs. Ost, US vs. Wehr, USSR vs. Ost and USSR vs. Wehr. 4 times more work than just tweaking a US against an already existing Ost.
I have no problem 2 german armies. I have no problem about the expansion pack. I have no problem the new german army + old one playing together. I have a problem sovs+ US playing together.
I also have a problem with US on eastern front maps. |
Just imagine the battles as an alternativ story, don't cling to historic accuracy, make your own story!

It still boggles my mind how people play this game in a multi-player/competitive capacity and still oppose having things like mixed allies and mirror matches. I really don't get it at all, to me, historical accuracy doesn't count for much at all once I enter multi-player.
I guess it would be nice to introduce an option to have only 'historical' online matches, but tha would really cut the community. Personally I would have liked to see the ability to have any combination of factions vs any other combination.
Having said all that, I am looking forward to seeing what the new units will be. I wonder how different the Wermacht will play to Ostheer though? Panzer Elite were a big departure, I wonder how they will handle this expansion?
go play starcraft II, this is a WW2 rts for a reason. If they really enable sovs+ US matches in one game i will quit the game.

COH 1 is a slightly better game in itself than COH 2 (because of global upgrades), however, i think COH 2 is way better for me because for me atleast, the eastern front is 10x more interesting than the in my opinion, rather boring, western front. Adding americans to this game , ehh i dont know...
Then again this is only my opinion, i understand lots of other people want lots of new factions or something. I for example just want sovs/ ostheer balanced. |
grenades and molotovs need to be disabled while suprresed. Done.
It would be interesting if the conscript assault package replaced the molotov with a shock troop grenade. (Maybe slightly weaker version of it) |
dont know why everyone is going crazy over pios,assault grenadiers. Whenever i play the soviets, pios usually lose to 1 conscript pretty bad. They lose 2-3 men before getting in their optimal range. Same with assault grens. Before they get into close range, my 1 conscript killed 1-2 assault gren before they had to retreat. I dont know why, but last patch for me assault grens were much of a bigger problem since you could blob 3 of them and just force everything away. |
the DSHK tears throught german infantry like hell. And since tanks got delayed, the soviet defensive doctrine stuff has alot more time to shine.
In some maps such as minsk pocket i actually prefer non upgraded cons that ppsh cons.
Gaurds beat every infantry long range.
Shocks beat every infantry close range. Always throw smoke grenades as shocks now,even when approaching say, grenadiers. |
penals,if you got no ppsh, or shocks,or gaurds for that matter, then penals. Penals are basically the non-doctrinal shock unit for the soviets.
They are better than grens at close range, while costing only a tad more (30 mp).
As they gain veterancy, they become trampler squads with the flamethrower,posing threat even to pgs.
Also remember that their satchel insta gibs everything in a 10 meter radius. |
