It's also integral to OKW since you get to build Panthers and Obers from it. You don't have to build emplacements to play as Brits. Tell me, how I can get indirect fire if I don't need to build emplacement? Fairly easy? It has more HP than Bofors. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: [BRITISH][ALL] - EMPLACEMENTS TWEAKS27 May 2016, 13:09 PM In 1v1 I'm more afraid of a competent Brits player who does not use emplacements and almost not afraid of emplacements spammer. In 2v2 you can take down any emplacement at any time. All you need is good coodrination between you and your teammate + proper strat. If you make 4 Volks and then Luchs, you can't whine that emplacements are killing you. In: COH2 Balance

Tenet 1: Combined Arms should matter and always beat spam of any one unit. Coh2 at its best at least pays some credence to this idea. But the design of Bofurs completely fails this idea because Bofors counters the units that counters them. It really ridiculous that bofors can counter artillery and paks. Tenet 2: Balance should favor the player with better micro or better decision making. Emplacement spam design requires something like 4x the apm and much better decision-making from the other guy to stop. It is absurd. It breaks the game. It is cancer game design. There are also other things to such as emplacements adding another layer on top of map balance that needs to be accounted for. Maps that came out before Brits such as "Road to Kharkov" heavily favor brits so much if they are able to get a bofors on top of your cutoff point. It is rather absurd. But this is what happens when you don't have a consistent lead game designer in charge of things to make these high-level checks on gameplay and design. It's pretty obvious their strategy is to have a small crew randomly add units and tweaks with the mentality of it "we'll release it and fix it afterwards" which was pretty disastrous with the pathfinding change recently. Where were you when OKW was introduced with Schwerer HQ locking down sectors? How Bofors counters Stug or Puma? Barrage should be removed and then even AT Gun will counter it without any problems. Becasue figthing OKW blob protected by Schwerer, supported by ISGs with Med HQ does not require X times more micro to beat? In: COH2 Balance

Getting up T2 to rush a Panzer 3 would make probably make it cheaper than a T70 rush for Soviets AND give you access to fausts/nades/LMGs/shreks 222 are indeed decent against enemy light tanks, but as I mentioned, they become almost useless after that. Which is a problem because it creates a situation where, even if you completely outmicro your opponent, you would still only really have traded resources. Maybe the unit would be fine if they fixed the bloody coax machine gun. It could be solved by making Panzer III T2 unit but with requirement if BP2. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Churchill is garbage26 May 2016, 09:30 AM Give it 350 armor and 1080HP with vet bonus for 1280HP. It shares the gun with Cromwell, right? If so, it does not need anything else. Still Churchill is less garbage than KV1. KV1 needs more health and total veterancy rework. Maybe even small armor buff. In: COH2 Balance

But remember, it's doc vs. non-doc, so the Pak needs to be a bit better. As for the Flak, it can work exactly like the bofors: 360 degree rotation, no decrew, something like 1000hp, brace, a nice barrage ability.... Probably need to also dramatically increase the damage, so it wipes 1 model per shot, give it some armor pen as well (it's only fair)... Yea, this sounds great. Or alternatively, we could bring the Bofors/17lb in line with the Flak/Pak43 and have the game actually be fun to play. Bofors =/= Flak. Bofors is a tier unit. Flak is "something". If you want make it like Bofors, then you need to put into Med/Mech in exchange for 251/17 or Puma. What's more, it seems like you consider 17P as a superior to Pak43. Well, it's not. 400MP 70F vs 500MP. 17 Pounder can: Brace. Use flares. It's unable to decrew. But at the same time: can be destroyed by incendiary (pak can be only decrewed) can be countered by AT guns (pak43 can't) cannot shoot through obstacles (pak43 can) can be destroyed by small arms (pak43 cant) So think about them one more time, consider prices and tell me one more time which one is better.
