If you aks me I would say it's very risky. One hit form mortar or whatever to HMG and everything collapses.
I prefer make Rifles 100% AI and just support them with At gun and Stuart. In this case they will kill everyting with pschrecks very quick making place for Stuart.
Even in lat-game you will have use with them but if you give them bazookas they won't be effective in late-game cause they won't handle nor inf nor tanks |
I don't even bother myself with bazooka. I never go for this, use only captain as counter against kubel, it's just too weak for late game and for middle game I have AT gun and/or Stuart. It's better to get BAR and make AI inf + at gun and stuart as AT power.
57mm AT gun is hmmmmm weaker than Pak40 and ZiS3 on paper but practically i never go below 300% when I get one. Once I did 11k dmg with just one. Tank destroyerS? I thnik is should be tank destroyer because M10 is to weak to call it like that, Sherman is a medium comprehensive tank, E8 might be tank destroyer but still at power is not impressive. Only M36 can handle the heaviest BUT it's useless againt inf.
On the other hand Tiger II, Tiger or Panther are tank destroyers better than M36 with good AI power also.
I noticed that USF have no AT power like others.
Soviets: SU85, T34-85, IS2, ISU152.
Ost: Panther, Tiger, Elephant, Tiger Ace
OKW: Panther, Command Panther, Tiger II, Jadgpanzer, Jadgtiger
USF: M36, E8.
Balance, huh? Or should I say there are many choices for USF... |
Is there any list of all commanders? I would like to know how many there are.
In alpha there were 6 for USF. Wonder if Relic add some others which were not in alpha. |
I use the only right one in my opinion - Airborne. Rest are really, really weak.
M10 is a paper gun (M36 also but still better) nad 105mm Sherman is only AI unit.
Airbore have amazing Pathfinders - give them 2x BARs and they will be unstoppable. Add 2 squad of Paratroopers, best (but still very weak) AT strike and you need nothing more.
Plus you can get MG/AT regardless of the chosen tier. |
I never go for Lieutenant - lack of AT. If you do so you have to think how to counter that thing which won't be easy.
But if you go for Captain use Stuart+Captain - piece of cake or AT gun - 2hots should take it down. |

- 492 King Tigers
- 6000 Panthers
- 1350 Tigers
- 2 Super Pershing of which one saw combat
- 20 Pershings
Guess which faction should have the characteristic heavy tanks. The point is that >25 vehicles shouldn´t totally form a faction in Coh2. Honestly I already think the Sturmtiger is too much for the game. But for a faction that didn´t rely on heavy tanks (USA) that´s even more ridiculous.

Reduction of range is pointless. These are not tanks, these are guns so range should be huge. For me solution is to decrease accuracy. For example if target is over 70, chance to hit is around 20%.
As for ISU, reduction of AI is an option. It could be a little better than IS-2.
Af for Elephant, AT power is good. Just reduce hp or armor cause properly set it cannot be flanked = cannot be destroyed. |
No you misunderstood. It's not about "3 types of units to destroy just one", it's "3 types of units that can destroy one". The 76mm HVAP shots and 90mm gun would be able to take on Panthers and Tigers as well as or better than the T-34/85. Side note, it would also be able to destroy the T-34/85, as we learned in the Korean War.
Ok but I still don't get why you don't want to see some equal units to Tiger II/Jagdtiger? Why US have to manage with them with units that have only 100mm armor (Jagdtiger 250mm)?

Then the Americans should deal with them like they did in real life, 76mm armed Shermans / Hellcats with High Velocity Armour Piercing rounds and 90mm armed M36 Jacksons.

But CoH is not about realism. It's about balance. I hardly can imagine using 3 types of units to destroy just one.
Using so weaker units is useless. Before they reach Tiger II/Jagdtiger and flank it, some other units that cover Tiger II will destroy them.

It will like with Elephant. Properly set and secure was unbeateble. Now when soviets have ISU that can manage.
