And that's why I dont like Infantry in 1v1. It's like preparing for long game. Versus OKW I will whatever it takes to not let them survive till late game.
Rifle, Recon, Mechanized. I like in 1v1 because they allow me to strike with huge power in the first minutes. It's risky but I would smash my enemy in early game and dealy his late game for 5-10min rather than equal battle with preparations for late game from both sides.
It's just my philosophy in 1v1.
Same with Soviets.
Cons Cons... Engi with flamers, T70, T34, GG.
Reverse, repair, reload, protecting while reloading, advance with support, pick target (as in lead the target).
The secret to the Sturmtiger is tricking your opponent into thinking you will be firing when you won't, want to force a retreat? Raise the main gun then cancel, keep that up and he will easily lose map presence.
The Sturmtiger is unchallenged in it's ability to break enemy lines and force retreats, but it's incredibly rare due to the skill required to use it effectively against good players.
This is the scarecrow mode but you used it only once, maybe twice in this game.
Yet it's still a way less micro than Jackson, Sherman or Scott.
???, You know that what makes the Jadgpanzer hard to counter also made those SU-85s hard to counter right?
A Panther isn't going to do anything about that con horde either.
And micro is more than just clicks per second, I had to reverse, repair, pick my target, lead it, reload, and micro it's supporting units.
The fact of the matter remains, you said the Sturmtiger was potent but wasn't viable, I proved you wrong, now your just trying to damage control how my replay doesn't actually prove anything because I used reverse, when that's what you do for almost every tank.
The micro part comes in on keeping it safe, reloading, and picking your targets.
Stuart is shit but sometimes it gets 30kills.
I pointed that your enemy was helping you to get those kills.
Reverse, repair, reload... Really? This is high intensive micro? Use few Shermans and then we can talk about microing. This has nothing to do with micro. It does not take you attention. Move forward->shoot->forget.
Picking target is not a micro, it's tactic, cause you are thinking what target you need to pick up. Reloading is micro?... Click realod, forget for 50secs... That micro skills...
Im not denying that you ve killed 2 SU and 1 KV but clumping SUs, blocking on the trees... This map is is quite good for Jadgpanzer or ST cause there no place to flank.
All you need to do is to move forward. You dont need to worry about flanks.
All I can see with SU-85 or Jacksons or any other tank in the game is charge hit reverse?
I killed several tanks with it, gibbed a fair amount of infantry with it to. How would a Panther have been better when a Panther can't 1 shot a SU-85 or a KV2?
EDIT: and Axis favored lmao we got the WORST starting position on that map regardless of faction, and still one. Don't go shit docs like Soviet Industry or Tank hunter tactics kids.
Charging with Jackson or SU? Really? They have 60 range for a purpose....
You killed 2 SUs and KV2 I think. But it was because of charging into fog, clumped SUs and reversing into woods with KV. You were lucky you did not lose it before.
Panther can't one shot it, but wen you got RNG god, Panther on that position could sit there, and easily shoot at them, finishing at least one.
Im still waiting for explaination where was this intensive micro cause what Ive seen it was hit-reverse-do nothing like I said.
And doctrines? Well.. You are right here.
And its axis favour because there is no counter to Jadgpanzer or Elephant.
Eh... you do realize that doctrine can be choosen even after 15min (especially as OKW since you dont lack anything is stock units)?
Point is you can't think that you can't make a Sherman because he might go for fortifications.
It works in both ways.
You can get infantry because he might go for fortifications.
USF need doctrine earlier cause of LMG, Paras, AT gun and many other reasons while OKW can wait.
Point is, infantry doctrine forces you to go for captain so you are losing M20 mines (that design...) and early game advantage (M20 or AA) which can help you to cut off OKW player from fuel.
Im not saying it's bad doctrine. It's very good but it forces to me go for Captain.
The Sturmtiger needs micro because you need to be smart in firing it, and making sure to keep it firing and reloading while also ensuring it stays safe. It's a process that no other tank in the game needs to go through.
Now, please explain me something.
I said that ST is a unit that charge, shoot and then doing nothing for XX seconds.
You said it's very micro intensive.
Where we have any micro here?
All I can see is charge, hit, reverse.
Also your enemy...
Maxim spam? SU76... Charging with SU-85 into fog?
You made one suicide mission and RNG was in yout favour cause of crit.
He lost in a very stupid way SUs and KVs.
He looks very solid in stats but in this game... Well...
You got only 1 really good hit on SU85 but again, it's because he pushed into fog. SU supossed to fight at distance on this map with increased vision, not charge into fog...
He did not reatreat many units, for example maxim in the middle at the begginig.
Also this map is very pro axis. Why they did not veto it
No place to flank, and really dumb usage of SU or KV2.
But nevermid... Just show me where was all this micro instead of shooting->reversing->doing nothing.
Im also quite sure that Panther+KT would do better job than ST+KT.
Mechanized is the worst USF commander in the game next to armor. Every time I play against someone who goes mechanized I laugh as my Ostheer friend fausts him.
Or just have my sturms kill his WC51 truck lmao
If Strums get Dodge it's because bad micro of USF player.
Mechanized is amazing. 2 weeks ago I was so kind to point you one by one why it is quite good sometimes.
Are we arguing about 4's or not? Because you seem to be entirely inconsistent in your frame of reference.
To put this in perspective, you would be challenging me more to offer you a replay of me using the Panther, because Iv built 2 Panthers in 3 months of playing OKW. The only Panthers I normally ever get are command ones, so my Sturmtigers can sight for themselves.
JT's are great, but they do require you to make sure your always targeting the right tanks and whatnot because it's slow ROF means every shot is essential (which is extra fun when the hold fire bugs out and it starts shooting infantry!)
You dont see ST in 1v1 so I guess we are arguing about 2v2,3v3 and 4v4.
I know how powerful Panther is.
I know how potent ST can be, but I also know that ST is doing nothing most of the time and does not need a micro.
You are saying it needs a micro, so I would love to see replay of yours with ST that needs a micro and is devastating.
A viable strategy I don't see many people do is back tech to captain (if they didn't go Airborne) to get out a howie and 2 AT guns. This hard counters jagdpanzer and makes a panther have a harder time getting anything doe. If you are mechanized, you can even send back a sherman to do so.
I think you misunderstood me. Im not backteching. If Im going for Lt, Airborne is must-have cause of AT gun so no backteching, just dropping AT Guns.
Mechanized... I love this commander. Take AA or Stuart and when the job is done, replace with Sherman or Jackson.
Against OKW you won't even notice lack or Paras or LMGs since Obers will melt everything.
And the dodge...Amazing to hunt down converting truck in the first 2-4min.
It can also damage really hard trucks or vehicles with barrage.
But then I have to go for Cpt to get AT guns, or Lt but upgrade bazookas and equip 2 RE squads with them.
I have 30 replays of winning with Sturmtigers, want a specific one?
Nobody keeps JT alone, but Volks aint' going to to shit against some turbo speed medium tanks flying towards your postion.
Then comes the time you get unlucky and infinite crew shock stuns against your Jadgtiger because the RNG god hates you.
And lol on Steppes, yes here is this one map with no shotblockers, which means the Jadgtiger is easy and pudding to use on all other maps which actually do have shotblockers.
The Sturmtiger has 1440 health for a reason, it also has "Sturm" in the name for a reason, it's a bloody "Assault" Tiger. It's supposed to be for breaking AT gun walls and smashing apart enemy concentrations, not following blobs around.
Somebodies never played minsk pocket...
Medium tanks? Really? JT will kill 1 before they reach it, bounces from front armor all the time, and by the time, JT will be almost dead, 3 Volks will easily snipe 2 mediums.
How exctaly JT crew is going to be shocked if it has 80 range? I also proved that this whole "shock" does not work like "insta not doing anything"
A logn time ago there was a guy here who was arguing with me. I showed him videos where I could rotate on the move my JT while being shocked. He disappeared from that thread in a second.
JT is made for wide open map, right? You dont use it on Stalingrad but you can do it on Minsk Pocket.
Yes, ST supposed to do that. Problem is, most players will avoid ST strike and like I said, Stuka is doing this better. I saw many Stukas with 60-130 kills in 4v4 but not a single Sturmtiger.
When I see Strumtiger Im happy becasue I know my enemy just wasted tons of resources.
Waiting for pro replay with this damn intensive micro.
