The biggest and most important thing for me, is that 1v1 is running and capping game, while 2v2 and higher is fully positional battle with pushing forward and being pushed back fronline. I prefer frontline battle over running and capping.
Let's say Vielsam (huge retreat path). OKW blob got under MG fire. But that's not the problem, I can retreat at approach again.
OST blob got under the fire. I must retreat which means 2-3mins for my enemy to dig down his troops.
In perfect world, none should blob so hard to get all unit under the fire, and OST playet must take in into account that it's risky, so maybe it's better to make tactical movements than just blob, but OKW? Garden this, blob all day long since I have retreat point near.
It's highly unfair, promote mindless blobbing which is not punished like for OST.
Same about Rifles. Might flamer blob. Blob blob blob, burn everything and reater to Mjr. If flamer blob sees Ostwind - insta reater to Mjr - not punishing because you can go back in 30secs; if Grens blob sees something scary, retreat to the base - I blobbed, I overrun my blob and I should get punishment for that mass retreat which is retreating to the base.
It's not like it's also easy to punish.
Stuka is ultimate punisher, Katy, or ML-20 yet it's doctrinal, but USF and OST lack of such units/abilities. Of course, there are air abilities but let's be honest, red flares at retreat point? Everyone will dodge it.
I'm all for removing this stupid, promoting blobbing feature.
It should be removed from USF and OKW or Relic should give it to OST and SU. Simple. Maps like Rails and Steel (and of course most 4v4) with ling retreat paths are highly unbalanced with Mjr/Med truck.
I can agree only about crit repairs that it should be more expensive.
But the rest?
Do Wehrmacht have 6 man squads on weapon teams? no, but their team weapons are stronger and they are not exposed to powerful rifle nade.
Do they have 6 man squads on any basic infantry? no (only Opstruppen) - No, but they have better fire power than others.
Do they have Demo charges with which to 1 shot any russian squad with no warning or chance of avoiding? No (cant expect to have a mine sweeper in every part of the map, and even if you do, you dont always watch when they run onto vps). Do allies have powerful, sluggish TD or AT gun with cheat wall ability? This is pudding cause we can take all day and night talking about who has what... Tho demos are easy to avoid. 100% with sweeper but even without them you can avoid 7/10 with smart microing.
Can they hop out of any vehicle and instantly repair engine damage? no, but they have smoke/blitz which are more useful in my opinion
Do they have doctrines with self repair? no, again, do USF have heavy tank? Etc etc...
Do the Wehermacht have the magic aircraft of divine guidance making all damage done to a tank significantly increase? (Marked target) No, but OKW has, while OST has iDelete strafe for 110ammo
We can go like this all day... Why Axis' upgrade are free from unlocking? etc etc... but that's not the point.
So, markt target in unrealistic? But Panther drivindg with speed of 80-90km/h is not unrealistic? It's even more.
Don't compare Sherman's smoke because it's completly different and it won't save you when you have almost 0 HP.
What repair ability has to do with it? Nothing. It does not matter if you repair it behind the lines with ability or infantry. It does not matter.
Smoke is amazing and it's fine.
It's insanely stupid blitzkrieg which makes tanks like race cars, not to mention, it should be offensinve ability, not defensive.
Today I was able to get out with almost dead Panther 3 times becasue of blitzkrieg. Of course, I was glad with it, but was it objectively all right? Not at all. It's complelty agasint design of this ability and totally unrealistic.
60 munitions to save an unflanked panther that didnt hit a mine or get AT naded? Thats unfair?
Yes. The whole approach for Blitzkrieg is bad. Blitzkrieg should be offensive, massive ability, not singule, defensive one. That's the first. Second point, reversing Panther faster than cars or light vehicles? Come on...
I would change secure mode for expensive blitz anytime. It's very forgiving ability. You made one step too far, just blitz away. You made one step too far with Sherman or T34 - you gonna lose them.
You lack of good micro with infantry. You are not using cover effectivly. Just look how many models you have lost and how he has lost. You have few units under one command and you dont put them behind cover on by one.
Why Puma? You can call for Puma to counter T70/Stuart/M3 etc but he hasnt had any so in fact your Puma was almost useless for 15mins. Flak would be a lot better option.
You put Schwerer on the unsecured field and in place with very easy access with at gun - you can put it like that but only if you have secured fields around - if not, put it behind shot blockers.
Why you pick up doctrine just at the beggining? You are taking away from yourself chance to react to enemy's steps. Also why Obers+Falsch? I mean, it's just my way, when I'm picking doctrine with elite inf, Im not going for Obers, but it's just my opinion.
You units preservation is also really bad. You need to improve it.
But the crucial point was Puma. You had nice map control at the first 4mins and then you could inflict huge bleed with flak but you chose useless Puma.
2v2 random is really insane...
Few thing from last 10 games.
Stuka zu fuss wiped with 1 shells my 2 Rifles with 4 zooks (who were on the move!). I was without any AT, then one guy said that his teammate is noob and send everything to us to kill it.
My random teammate calling me noob, idiot etc - results 159 kills/28k dmg, him 81 kills, 15k dmg (at least we/I have won)
Trois-Ponts, I send Rifles and AssEngis through the city (bottom spawn) to flank from behind through bridge. Sniper openin from OST enemy. From the bridge I damaged him to almost death, so I follow with Rifles and send AssEngi to the "river" to block retreat. Sniper died there - guy dropped.
I was called a cheater because of Bulldozer wiping squads left and right.
