It's just that usually all engagements on these maps are close quarter ones, with a lot of flanking routes and shot blockers, which make it ideal for Allies and hard for Axis to set up a clear frontline. They've been a basic element of RTS for ages, changing this would be the wrong approach. It's the design of certain factions that cause blobbing, not the basic tools that label a RTS game. Thread: Excess Manpower26 Dec 2014, 18:15 PM That's just another example how badly OKW is designed. Every faction gets punished by bad engagements with manpower losses, but not OKW. Losing a grenadier squad as Wehmacht or just loosing models on a squad is painful to replace especially with teching beeing so expensive. With OKW you have a bad fuel income, which leaves you with a ton of manpower. As a result, you got a ton of infantry with no support weapons and blobs, just what people complain about the last couple of months. I've seen more Pak43 from OKW than in all the years of Wehrmacht combined. This is particularly odd since OKW (based on 1944/45 German army) had enormous shortage of manpower. In: OKW Strategies
Thread: PPSh-41 needs a buff, or?25 Dec 2014, 12:05 PM The amount of people suggesting to buff cons is disturbing. Cons do really well, especially against Wehrmacht. Against OKW it's a bit tricky due to the idiotic Vet 5 system and Obers (in that case OKW needs to be reworked not the cons). With the use of sandbags they are viable till the late game aswell. The Conscripts themselves are fine, it's the PPSH-41 upgrade that sucks. I'd rather have a dedicated close range Shocktroops squad with more survivability than a Conscript squad that only deals damage at point blank range after the upgrade. In: COH2 Balance
