This is my first map in Company of Heroes 2, I have sunk many hours into it and I am now ready to enter this contest. I feel it is a good map for urban and forest combat. I truly love the atmosphere while playing on this map and hopefuly it is up to par with others veteran mappers! Looking forward to your reviews! Thread: Need help to edit my workshop map.27 Mar 2014, 23:59 PM My map was uploaded on the workshop a while ago. Since then I changed pc so I dont have the worldbuilder data for my map anymore. On this way you avoid the crawling lolotov throw (even if you just can pack away and keep shooting) or the long Rnade while supress. -Solution to light vehicles and some other problems: Make soviets have an upgrade on HQ for 50 fuel which unlocks T3 n T4 (which them having ol fuel prices). This upgrade also unlocks PTRS upgrade for Penals. Good solutions imo. Makes penals a viable option and get rid of the lolotov mg In: COH2 Balance

You get sepreate enemys for the two factions. Maybe his play din't feel noobish, because both of you were noobish, which means it felt like not noobish xD Yeah, I thought about that too. But from my soviet perspective he played well, not as good as I would have but what was all over my face is how easier it was playing germans. The only thing that scared me is he was planting mines when he saw my p4. Apart from that, I just set up an mg and mortar covering my troops, gren at medium ranges, assgren close and I won the battle like this everytime. He was flanking with cons, using mortar and even saw a t70 which I took care easily flanking with my grens. Ill continue playing germans to see if I get destroyed against better opponents but right now, it seems germans always has an immediate counter while soviet needs 2 - 3 units to make it a counter. grenadier and pio rush counter: mg, mortar, shocks, cons and possibly light vehicles since you will be losing the map fast so you need to gain the advantage quickly. Thread: after 3/25 patch: what are soviet options for winning ?27 Mar 2014, 11:16 AM I am a soviet player, never played german except for a few times against one of my buddy that needed practice as soviet. I won a few games and lost a few since the patch. My units feel much more fragile now but if you use cover and use everything you got, you can manage to win. I find it a bit harder than before. For that reason I decided to try playing germans to see if it was as hard as soviet to play. I went 2 gren 2 assgren 1 mg 1 mortar and fast p4. I won the game and the player didn't play noobish or anything, he went 3 cons 1 shock 1 mg 1 mortar fast t34. When I lacked firepower, I sent my pio to the front and it seems to have turned the battle in my favor. Overall, I think penal battalion need a slight buff, since going conscript spam isn't as good as before. Buffing penals will make new strat viable. The main problem with penals is no AT. You get increased close damage, but no AT later in the game. Or you can go conscripts, get AT, but doesn't do much damage until pssh, which is ammunition heavy. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Penal Battalions THE THREAD!6 Mar 2014, 17:19 PM If I sum it up, penal battalions are suicide squad. They got flamethrower and satchel charge, they got enough options to be on par with the other russian units. Enough dps as it's pretty good medium-long range. What they need is a slight survivability upgrade. They're good early game but it's the medium-late game that suffers because they die QUICK. How about armor upgrade that cost munition? Not some good body armor op stuff, just some slight buff to make it viable in late game and not being affordable in early game because they are fine there. In: COH2 Balance
