Thread: Community Farewell from pqumsieh23 Jan 2015, 16:30 PM If i write a blog about how DLC was ruining games, then only to buy all available DLC people would call me a lair, a cheat and criticize the blog of lies i have posted. Now if i we're to write a blog about game balance and design, offering logical and well thought out conclusions,.. only to release 'tiger ace' and other none sense, then leave a company where i 'imposed/didn't object' to them. well,. Thread: Menu Locked at 30fps?23 Jan 2015, 15:59 PM Yeah its v-sync. Its best to leave it on, V-sync doesn't reduce your fps as much as it caps it to your native monitor refresh rate. Thats why, depending on the quality of your monitor, it can be capped at 30/60/70/120 fps etc This stops crazy high fps on things like menu which only serve to cook your card. It also stops 'screen tearing' when your fps far exceeds your monitor refresh rate resulting in horizontal lines appearing as the screen is dissected into several portions as it tries to catch up with displaying the image A $300 card capable of running a game at 120fps doesn't mean your $150 budget monitor can display it very well. I'm not one to stream myself, but love to watch every cast, tourney and stream i can, and i think the absence of an observer mode is really harming this. I don't want this to turn into some rant thread, but between you and me noun, i would try to prioritize Observer mode. It may be the smallest group within the player base that would use such a thing, however they are the most 'visible' and vocal members within it, they are the driving force of the community. that is all. thanks again. Also thanks for the link to the stream, again my attention seems to be off, i should have seen that. now lets carry on -if coh2.org is a place where lots of the community are perhaps you could set up a system where any news about streams etc could be posted on here? or even on steams 'news' page for coh2? Lets be honest, if you play coh2 you are on coh2.org, every other site pales in comparison. I know face book, twitter g+ are popular (maybe not g+), but are they popular among the players of coh2? somewhat sure, but judging by the stream watchers it barely covers 1% of the player base. i think you need to use other avenues. -'nothing leads to community disappointment faster than showing off something when it's not ready yet' Not sure if a agree with that. sure its is correct in some sense but i think you'll find the most disappointing issue for the community have been the things you have released without any warning or information before hand such as: tiger ACE/ broken spoils/ unbalanced commanders etc. Expectations are merely interpretations on imagination, such things have no weight, all that matters is that you put out solid working features, if you do this why would it matter about peoples assumed disappointment? If you do what you have planned correctly then what would there to be disappointed about? i think you need to give the community a little more respect in that part. - Now back to the stream, observer mode. Now from what i heard would i be correct in thinking that you haven't got anything like an observer mode yet, you haven't begun to make an observer mode yet, and you have no plan in the future (immediate future) to introduce an observer mode? is this correct? That seems like it would cause more problems than it would solve. personally the more i think about giving it to rear echelons the more i like it, lets face it after 4-5mins aint nobody building those units, sure they have their place very early game, but you'd rarely see any built other than the unit you start with. and after 4-5 mins their volley fire is pointless due to numbers of squads. Give RE crit repair though and they seem to have more of a point other than 'well have these units at the start because having a rifle squad would be OP' In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Repair Criticle is such bs29 Jul 2014, 16:39 PM I think its a great ability and should be in the game in some way, however as USF crew can already jump out and repair i think perhaps it may be a bit too good, not OP as such, just a bit to convenient. I haven't played a lot of USF, so it may be due to their relative weakness that crew repair plus repair crit is needed for them to be viable against the stronger armor of opposing factions. That being said if it is generally considered to be a bit too good for USF with their crew repair i would like the ability to remain in game and perhaps be move to a different faction, or even a different unit within the USF, rear echelon perhaps? Oh and 1 more thing, get trans-coding from twitch before you start, hell your a big name games developer, surly if you ask they'd give it too you without having to wait for the numbers in stream. Aside from the terrible organization with no trans-coding, no plan for stream, no info it was happening and 1 guy without mic having to relay everything through noun, it was very disappointing. Personally i have a real problem with their whole 'we dont want to reduce units in anyway because its not fun hurr durr' attitude however i think the biggest disappointment was..... No observer mode planned or considered,. not now, not soon, not ever. In: Lobby
Thread: The Next Commander Rotation: What is it?29 Jul 2014, 15:35 PM Moving away from what id like to see be in the rotation and back to the question, i highly doubt we will get any information on what commander will be next. I mean yeah, would be nice, a good idea, possibly driving up peoples excitement about trying a commander which they haven't got yet. But relic and information/support/promotion don't mix. I.E PQ, noun and some other relic guy streamed on twitch a couple of days ago at about 1-2am GMT. If it wasn't for watching streams myself i would never have known, hell, no one did. They gave out some 'interesting'/disappointing and important info during the stream also, shame so many had no idea it was going on either. (tbh it was terrible production, 1 guy didn't have mic, they had no idea what to do, didn't organize anything with twitch and had no trans-coding, was painful to watch) To sum up, relic??? information??? olololollolololo oh btw, no observer mode, not now, not soon, not ever,.. yay! Command King Tiger is coming and you want to nerf the best USF vehicle (which still is shit when compare to best of soviets, okw and ost). What's more, it's only in 1 doctrine so in fact you know from the first minute what you enemy is planning and you have a lot of time to get prepared for E8. First things first,. are you trying to derail thread or you just think that what you have to say, even if it is irrelevant to the subject inn hand, must be heard. Assault Grens? Check. (5 man pio with no at, build more than 1 and you done it wrong) Panzer Grenadiers? Check. (comes un-upgraded in a ht costing fuel, gl using that for pgrens) early-mid game vehicle, Stug? Check. (Stu'H' not Stu'G', usless at, lack luster ai, seen rarely) Arty? Check. ( yeah not bad, not unique or op) Tiger? Check. ( Good tank, but balanced) No need to build anything. (only if you are retarded and bias in opinion, sure) With that out of the way your only offering to the E8 'debate' is that there may be a future commander that you've seen leaked that may or may not be released, that could change wildly in what it offers, that you feel makes the E8 legitimate..... oooooookay In: COH2 Balance
