Jesus Christ, Spec Ops is in a wheelchair as is. How many times do people even use it? As a doc it's inferior to GO, Feuer, Jagdtiger, hell even Overwatch.
Tell that to HelpingHans then, he doesn't seem to know it and uses it with great results all the time in 1v1 and team games alike.
Just because something is not the definitive go-to hardcore meta does not mean its not viable.
Spec OPs flares are OP and it couldn't be more irrelevant which doctrine they are in.
Give it Shermans HE shells as stock-ammo and a weak-spot ability with hollow-charge animation.
The def.-aura becomes a 30sec. ability, but buff it back to 0,8%. + make the commander only open the turret when ability is active.
-> useful unit.
That would be overstepping ostwinds territory too much.
Its buffs should be around utility through abilities, not raw firepower, its already good vs infantry.
Unique units need to be more useful,if not, it just waste commander slot, better be remove
And I’m not said remove it,just upgrade model to normal P4 or P4.J
Or you can do what Miragefla suggests and expand utility of the unit...
If you want to play generic RTS like C&C, play C&C.
The best part is when your 4man gren squad faces a 4man infantry section and infantry section snipes a model while you both squads try to get to cover.
Cause moving accuracy buffed last part.
This tilts me good.
You know what's even better part?
That grens have higher chance to snipe tommies model then tommies grens, because grens need 5 hits and tommies need 7 and they fire slower out of cover.
Now that is doubtful, considering mirage and sander have posted almost two pages of balance changes between them
And if you paid attention, you would notice its their personal suggestions, wishlists.
It does not mean they will be allowed to continue making changes, its 100% up to relic and with Andy moving on, that leaves a whooping total of ZERO people assigned to CoH2 with technical knowledge on relic site.
There is a reason people are using ass grens, ostruppen, and VSL's over Grens.
That reason is PGs arriving sooner and roflstomping everything on field when rushed, leading to more map control and extremely fast LV.
It's the same reason why conscripts fell out of grace before the 7 man/SVT buff. Soviet players were using penals like crazy because they could absolutely roflstomp Grens (as they should, they are 300mp), and Ost, other than building MG42's (which could be satchled) had no answer for it, except maybe a sniper supplanting a gren squad engaged with a penal. (And penals could still rush grens under cover and force them off)
No, its not even close to same reason as cons pre 7 man - cons did not scaled at all without doctrinal commitment and just barely with it as ppsh was nothing but a massive bleed on yourself for little gain until vet3, grens do scale.
You could force them off and wait for PG's...which still drop units against penals, their bundle grenade is not as good, and their AT package doesn't snare. And reinforcement cost is enormous.
I'm not for giving Grens an OP buff, but when players are preferring a 200mp unit like Ostruppen over a mainline infantry that costs 240mp and requires tech, it seems pretty clear the 240mp unit does not have enough value in it to purchase.
Not a singular living sould picks osttruppen over grens because of scaling, but you've already proven you have no slightest idea why they are not being picked -IN 1v1 EXCLUSIVELY-.
Try playing without grens in team games and not on 4 digit rank tier and you will see foregoing them is a complete suicide.
Why not give them more HP to increase their survivalbility?
