Thread: Avoiding Squad Wipes22 Jan 2014, 05:53 AM CoH2 is one big race to tanks, so far what I did to win the last few games was a quick ostwind/panzer4 to their base as an immediate distraction while I start capping the map -- map control against soviets have been difficult for me with my opponents using their larger numbers to their advantage. Point is, end the game as QUICKLY as possible. Build gas points early. Race to tanks first. I just mentioned base rush because there is no more threatening attack than that. I had a game against a guy using almost purely hard counters around victory points. So I said fuck it, I built tanks and went for the base. In: Ostheer Strategies

I roll in with a Pgren that ate his wheaties and do two Script whipes and force retreat a Guard in a matter of seconds. This is a good example of how potent the "Glass Cannons" can be. Thread: My Counter Against Conscript Spam20 Jan 2014, 04:45 AM Hello all, I bought Mechanized Assault because it looked cool. Yes, that is the actual reason. Assault Grens, quick Panzer Grens, Artillery, and a Tiger! Anyway this guy is capping the field quick with his conscript squads, so while I'm trying to keep up with AssGrens WONDERING how conscripts is beating aggressive german troops armed with automatic weapons, I prayed, and I recieved. Please, PLEASE, rate and give me some tips and tricks. I know there are better players out there that wont fall for this. In: Replays

They should at least making an upgrade from MP40 into STG44 in later stage of the game. Their nades are worthless, their guns are total shit unless 0m range. All Soviet have to do when spotting assgren is to run, gather and blob cons together behind cover. They can't even do a nice job like MP40 volks protecting flanks of MG42. I want to agree with you, and in some games I do. Like VS Shock Troops. But AssGrens are pretty good coming out early game. It doesn't take too much micro managing to exterminate any enemy squads in game. For example I usually go with 3 AssGren squads, use grenades, micro manage them into cover, and kill any enemy left. Are you a CoH1 player? If so, I think I know where your criticism is coming from. We just can't BLOB our close quarter combat troops like we could with Pio Spam, PanzerGren spam, etc. they die much quicker in CoH2. CoH2 you have to treat your AssGrens as actual people that NEED cover. In: Ostheer Strategies

You just can't blob most units (except for shock troops) anymore without them getting killed. light armored vehicles aren't as dangerous as they were back in CoH1 either.
