I think half of the people 'round here would blow a gasket over that! You're not envisioning the sight reduction hampering HMGs from inside a garrison with this concept, right? The goal is to make combined arms efficient while avoiding mg spam. If mgs can be used to efficiently cover each other, there's no need for other infantry. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Blob nerf aura16 Apr 2015, 20:40 PM Knowing when to concentrate your forces should be a valid strategy, and efficiently punishable by the opposing player's counter strategy. Whereas if you inherently punish blobbing, you remove a tactical option and make the game even more predictable and boring. So no, I don't think it's the way to go. I'd much rather see a further increase of MGs suppression ability and/or accuracy coupled with a sight range reduction, making the mg + spotter combination more efficient. In: COH2 Balance

Lots of things can wipe units instantly: -demo charge -ice -destroyed houses -pretty much any explosive shell, nade -teller mines, m20 mines, soviet mines sometimes -exiting vehicles by mistake and retreating their crew -and vehicle crush 2. The "fundamental design of unit preservation" holds true as long as there is some reasonably effective counterplay available. Eg. demos can be detected, ice can be avoided, houses can be vacated, and tanks can be dodged, shot at, slowed down, etc. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Real Talk: Panther24 Mar 2015, 18:21 PM I think you bring up good points, and if the leaked patch data has any truth to it, Relic is also aware of the Panther's over-efficiency. In my opinion, that last armor buff it got was excessive and allows the Panther to overstep its boundaries without being punished for it. That being said, I currently see the panther as a problem for the USF vs OKW match-up only. I don't think it overperforms with any Soviet match-up because they have the tools to handle heavy tanks in readily available mines and decent support AT. USF mines, although much more potent, are secluded behind the M20 and their At-guns will not reliably penetrate most of the time. One Jackson might deter the Panther but you will need 2 to give chase and get the kill. That implies a significant investment and a huge gap in the anti-infantry department. That leaves P47s as the most reliable armor counter but I think everyone can agree it's a serious design issue. In: Lobby

I think they work as intended once they get in position. I'd rather Relic take another look at the long range dps of lmgs rather than touch the Thompsons. In: Lobby
