As it stand now M5 plays strictly a support role - Unlike German flamer halftrack. Has anyone have any replays where clown M5 was used to good extent? This way soviets would optimally tech T1 > T2 and then choose between T3 and T4. This would still allow them to skip tiers, although it would get more expensive... to balance it out T70 could get a small reduction in cost to preserve its shock value... Perhaps the reduction in cost would increase its appeal even mid late game after Germans have stuff to deal with it? Right now it loses its value very rapidly. In: COH2 Balance

I think the real problem here is that they have to choose between T1 or T2 which leaves their army a little too flat. Right now going t1 to t3 is not a thing, unless its only to put the last nail into your opponents coffin. Thread: Soviet Sandbag Placement Tips2 Feb 2014, 01:59 AM Who has some? I heard that its good idea to place them in a way that you can use them but enemy cant.. but lets get down to specifics? Is there build you do that works? Screenshots are welcome Also, does heavy cover provide bonus to light vehicles? I think it did in COH vanilla. As from my experience I find that sandbags work well when I build early sniper, this way I can build sandbags in plain sight and counter Germys when they take them over. Also, I build them at enemy's far cut of points... such as semoskiy maps. the reasoning is that Germans will not make use of them because its not a highly contested area. In: Strategy Desk

Thread: Sniper Balance25 Jan 2014, 02:09 AM Sniper can be countered with the same ammount of micro that a sniper player puts into sniper. -Deny the sniper by hiding behind houses -use grenadier grenades over LOS etc. -also halftracks reinforcing counters sniper as well since you're able to continue your push. Also think of what a player is sacrificing for going sniper (specially soviets) *I'll agree that guards + snipers is a little crazy though, but I am pretty sure guards will be moved to 2CP soon In: COH2 Balance

This is why I think soviet tech tree should be changed. It is very restrictive. If I want to go T1 then I have to have something from commander that lets me deal with light vehicles. And if that thing cant deal with heavy vehicle (like IS-2) then I have to go T4 or go to T3 and then back tech to T2 which is very inefficient. I am perfectly fine with having to Choose between T3 or T4, the problem for me is that if I went for T1 the choice is very skewed. In my perfect world soviet T1 and T2 would both be cheaper in fuel and that fuel cost would be transfered to T3 and T4. This way Soviet could get both lower tears, filling in the gaps. Lets say make both T1 and T2 cheaper by 20 fuel and make T3 and T4 cost 30 fuel more. In: Red Army Strategies
