Does this mean *GASP* Penals will become useful as well!!!???
The main problem with penal troops was that they were not cost effective against upgraded grenadiers. I don't see how this will change. It might even make them worse, because they now die even faster when charging in with a flamethrower/satchel. |
Very nice changes.
My only concern is the call-in tanks. With such heavy costs of teching, is there any reason not to go T1-T2 -> Tiger / IS-2 / T34/85s?
For example, with the new teching costs it will be more expensive to call in a single T34/76 than it is to call in a tiger. |
It happens "often."
Which would be the case if someone had bad/unstable internet. It would be suspicious if it only happened when he was clearly losing. In this game, he had an equal force and a larger portion of the map when he dropped.

I think he means the SU-85's 'zoom' mode. I disagree, while it'd be nice stock on some vehicles, I prefer spotting scopes as they are, great for StuG's in pairs and amazing on Scout Cars.
The zoom mode (focus sight) on the ISU152, SU85s and elephants all work exactly the same. |
Or just make spotting scope like the Soviet one?
Soviets have spotting scopes? |
The KV-2 is a terrifying death machine but there are a few ways to go about destroying it.
1) Artillery: The KV-2 can't move when in lock down mode, making it quite vulnerable to the howitzer. Be aware that the KV-2 can set up and use attack ground to target your howitzer if it can get in range. It's best not to use this option if the front line is close to your base.
2) Off map strikes: The KV-2 takes 10 seconds to de-setup. It thus can not dodge things like railway artillery or stuka bomb strikes. The Stuka 37mm strafing runs also do great damage against stationary KV-2s.
3) Long range direct fire: Your options for taking it out at long range are the PAK43 and the Elephant. Both of these have their issues. The Elephant can only hit the KV-2 if it has a clear line of fire. Considering the KV-2 can shoot over obstacles, a smart player will place it behind a building or some other shot blocker. The PAK43 can ignore these obstacles, but it is easily taken out by the KV-2 itself.
4) Drive up to it and kill it. The KV-2 has a minimum range in lock down mode. You can easily take it out by blitzing a tiger or panther up to its rear and kill it in about half a minute. |
I think the only OP ability the germans have at the moment is the Stuka Bomb Strike. The 5-second warning is not enough to dodge it, considering you don't know where it hits. It can be called in during engagements on enemy AT guns or other support weapons for a guaranteed kill. You don't just randomly move your AT guns/support weapons around when they are shooting at panthers and whatnot, but if you don't, you suddenly hear a trumpet and by then it's already too late because the unit can't pack up and leave in time.
All other abilities are, in my opinion, either properly balanced or too weak. Things like med-kits and counter barrage need to be improved, and bugged abilities like the sniper stun round and target weak point need to be fixed so they function properly. |
Looks like he just disconnected. There was no reason for him to pull the plug as he clearly was not losing. |
I shudder to think how those squads will function. Each G43 rifle has more long range fire power than a vanilla grenadier squad. One of these squads have the fire power of 20 grenadiers! You would not even have to spawn them near the sniper, 1 volley at max range is enough to insta-gib both models.
Now that I think about it... Those squads would function just like snipers, except with 10 times more hp. |
Nothing in Ostheer except TA and 221 can be consider being OP or ridiculous, considering in vCOH standard. Only unit in Ostheer need to tweak is 221/222, being more squishy than a Schimmwagen
The most absurd thing in the German arsenal is the 50kg Stuka Dive Bomb. It's like a V1, except the V1 gave a warning when it was called in, not when it was about to drop. It's 40 ammo cheaper than the soviet bomb strike, yet it's far superior. To make matters worse, it also comes in a doctrine with redistribute resources.
