I wasnt comparing the pens of both tanks, only the health. Penetration decreases with range. Especially for low-velocity guns like the ISU 152 has. The ISU-152 will still not be a long-range anti tank gun like the elephant, but now it won't be so easily killed from up close. It might now be actually something worth getting in a 1v1, rather than a free vet bonus for panthers or tigers. In: COH2 Gameplay

If the drop off say for the P4 is rather sharp then the increase to the T34 armor may be really strong for example. Well the regular P4 has a high velocity gun, the T34/76 has a low velocity gun. I'm guessing the weapon profiles will in nearly all cases be what they were in real life. I think the new T34/76 armor might now actually bounce some P4 shots, but only from long range. The other way around, the T34/76, whilst having higher pen, also has a low velocity gun. Making it still bounce a lot from long range, but making it more lethal up close. In: Lobby

Then it gets no Pen drop off at range? Not likely. From the description it would appear that the stug is now a assault gun, rather then a tank destroyer. Considering it has a high velocity gun, it will probably have the high velocity profile. HE profiles I think are going to be stuff like the sturmpanzer 4, rockets, SU76/ZIS barrages and maybe the ISU152. Edit: just read this on the official forums from PQ: "None of the vehicles use explosive weapons. Artillery, some abilities, and future units will use explosive type shells." In: Lobby

From the raw numbers it would seem that the soviets get a bit shafted, but those numbers don't include the changes in mobility. Edit: the howitzer changes seem like a flat out nerf. Which was the last thing these units needed. What was wrong with destroying someones base with artillery? It's barely useful against moving targets if your opponent had a brain and did not blob up against a player with a howitzer. In: COH2 Gameplay

Considering it costs nothing to use it's fine being situational. Being able to crawl with it would probably be all it needs to be perfect. No it's not pretty decent if you know what you are doing. If you have PPSH41s equipped, all your opponent needs to do is take 2 steps back and he will be out of the danger zone. Or 4 steppes back and rifle-nade you which you can't dodge except by retreating. Even without ppsh41s the ability is bad. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Hard Cap Heavies 21 Apr 2014, 23:12 PM I can't really say I agree sluzbenik. From the release of the game a lot of people complained that small arms fire was too low and cover was meaningless. The second big complaint was the rush to vehicles and the short early/mid game. I'd say that Relic is making great progress in solving these issues. They themselves have recognized the new problems that have arisen in the early game so we will likely see changes to that stage of the game in the next patch along with the vehicle changes. My only concern is at the moment is with soviet T3 and T4. I simply can't agree with Relics design philosophy that soviets can build one UND OHNLY ONE of their late-game tiers. It would be less bad if both tiers had AI and AT vehicles, but that the moment the only way to get that mix is by going SU-85+KV-8 call in or just skipping tech and spamming T34/85s.
