P4's don't cut it. Rush for Ostwind to increase his mp bleed, support it with two stugs and then tech up or wait for tiger. Has worked reasonably well for me. You may also ignore stugs and tech up immediately. |
Mines. A lot of mines. Mines win games and, most importantly, they are a huge obstacle to enemy tanks. Is-2 loses about 40-50% of its health and gets engine damage. 2 Paks and maybe a P4 help you to clear it out. 2 Stugs also work nicely, simply because of Target Weakpoint. Makes them win against SU-85's, too. |
There would be bloody battles, starvation/dehydration, dieseases, etc. The human population would reduce drastically and a total setback in terms of communication. We still have letters today, but we use cars to deliver them and machines to sort them. A completely new beginning and the first battles would ensue rather quickly about the fundamental ressources, like food, water, shelter. Every bit of wealth would mean nothing. For example, someone owns an oil field. Today he is a rich man, tomorrow he has nothing that means anything. What do you need oil for, when you can't use it.
We would have to adapt to the new circumstances, which will mean the death of hundreds of thousands people.
It would be chaos. No government could manage this or even reach its people. The medival age would look highly civilized compared to this new state of mankind. |
I only recommend Ostwind when you see that he has 2 shocks, because that will cause a huge manepower drain for him. 222 is still my favorite counter, but shocks can deal some good dmg to it if they get close.
Grenades also do the trick.
2 MG's to support each other. Mines. Basically anything with good AI-capacity. G43's also tear through soviet infantry like nothing else. |

To put it simple: Everyone blobbed everything. I tried playing wihtout blobbing, got kicked in the ass for that. My mate blobbed, our enemies blobbed, even the fucking tanks were blobs, call-in inf was spammed. Basically everything that's wrong with the current meta, except stalling for call-in tanks. |
Attack from the sides or rear.
With infantry: Use grenades and assault troops
With tanks: Move around, stop to fire, circle it. |
Stay passive, get Mortar HT, burn the house, storm their positions. Rinse and Repeat. Mortar-HT is better than normal Mortar, expecially becausse incendiary barrage.
Use Spearhead Doctrine for this, it provides you with Tigers, smoke, reacon and splitter bombs. Put it to good use and you can break your enemies defense rather quickly. |
Double OKW against Mixed Allies, random mates. Really fun match, pure attrition around the middle and left hand victory point. Lots of tanks and vehicles( Jacksons, IS-2, T-34, Kats, Stukas, Pumas, Panthers, Com. Panther, King Tiger, Flak-HT). Kats proved to be devastating, OKW made good use of fortification doc and had awesome armor preservation, almost all panthers vet 4 or 5. About longer than 1 hour.

Guards rely too much in heavy cover and DP's to be effective. They are good against early light vehicles and to support your tanks against enemy tanks, but as button is near to useless I wouldn't recommend them right now.
And they are, as already stated, walking weapon boxes. |
