ive never saw my ostwind shooting down a plane lol. wont park a 100 fuel unit in base juts for AA purpose
Good thing that a 222 can shoot them down then.

Disregard luchs, performance is fine. Timing of the unit is strange if you don't go fast T3, that's all I meant.
I haven't seen solid Flaktrack build orders in forever-it's all BHQ into leig/JP4, or mech with call in troop spam with puma, or BHQ+mech. If you could post recent replays of good Flaktrack use that would be great-I never see the unit anymore.
It's a little odd, but it's meant to fill in the arsenal gaps if you go BHQ into panzer command without stopping to get a jagdpanzer early or mechanized, you can get it around the same time as T70. Even if you get it late though it can still be effective it's just a matter of being cautious with it. It synergizes really well with Elite Armoured commander because you can use vehicle detection to strike where he isn't able to do much about it. (Or just flashlight HT to keep an eye on any vehicles he may have.) I'd even say elite armoured is woefully underrated. (But elite infantry are all the rage, so scavenge and luftwaffe are going to be the most popular)
I do a lot of mechanized builds, but with the new patch I don't have a ton of replays. With the Captain --> Pak howie/stuart meta it's risky but it all comes down to execution. Not so good on maps like La Gleize or Arnhem, but still doable. I especially like it against Brits since it can bait AEC and no one builds PIATS which hard counter it ruthlessly except in the most defensive usage. Only thing you gotta worry about is the .55 Sniper. |
Utilizing pretty much the entire doctirne. Lots and lots of smoke. |
Field defenses are always nice.
The smoke barrage is really, really good.
It drops pretty quick and covers a large area. I haven't used it in a 1v1 yet, but I'm excited.
Combined Arms is godlike.
Pershing itself is really nice. Great AT and strong AI. Good vet bonuses too. It's like a slightly better Comet. It's too expensive to really use all that often thought, but that's just my playstyle.
Rangers seem like the weak link, to be honest. Vanilla they seem little better than Riflemen, their potential to have lots of weapons is nice though but that's a huge munitions investment. Maybe they have great vet bonuses though, I haven't looked. I also want to see how triple bar's performs. I think it'd be fun to put three bazookas on them and see how that rocks.

I accept that Luchs is good at flank protection, but with okws fuel scarcity and the fact that you will always be on the back foot as them unless you get lucky spamming JLI, Fusiliers, and Leigs, it's not worth the resources for that unit.
Similarly, for a frail defensive tool the Flaktrack is not worth 55 fuel. (45? Been a while, staying away from OKW for time being)
IMO flak track should be way cheaper, like 30 fuel but with a performance nerf as well. Luchs I guess is fine, just a weird unit.
It's all about how you use them.
There's a reason Luchs gets cloaking ability with vet.

Almost had the nazi scum. |
Luchs is only good vs Brits or Soviet T1 play. (Which hardly happens these days.)
Flaktrack is only good vs LT tier, and even then it can be negated by M15 or nice nade play.
IMO buffing Flaktrack is a good idea.
Just use the Luchs to harass capping squads on the edges of the map if he has too much AT. Flak halftrack is better used defensively to protect your infantry. |
Definitely sure, I did a clean driver install using DDU when trying to fix it. It occurred on my old 970 and my new 980ti. I could reliably avoid crashes when booting the game by alt entering during boot, which caused it to switch to windowed mode. Then others posted similar symptoms and we realized g sync was the culprit. Not always, it used to work without issues but some patch about six months or a year ago or something stuffed it up, either that or a new set of Nvid drivers in that same time period, or combination thereof.
All crashes stopped when I manually told Nvid control pannel to not use G-sync on CoH2.exe. Prior to this, it crashes at a rate of nearly 100% unless I did the alt+enter trick - which worked because G-sync does not apply to windowed programs, only to fullscreen ones. The problem occurred during boot, not during gameplay, so you could go fullscreen again once you booted up. We reported the problem but no idea if it got fixed.
Not sure why you are unaffected, but there were multiple other G-sync users in the same boat as me based on postings in the bug reporting section.
Weird. I get the rare crash here and there (mostly in the menus ) but other than that it's been working great for me. |
Blunder aside, this was an alright match. |
I don't have too many issues here, but then again I use hotkeys for everything.
I think it's caused by Relic's UI only running at 30 FPS, which means that any mismatched frames (if your framerate is faster/slower) could not register. The UI is rendered independently of 3D resolution in CoH2, unlike CoH1 or DoW2, which is also why you can lower the 3D resolution in game options to 50% or 66%.
This doesn't affect hotkeys because those use Directinput or giving units movement/attack orders.
Just my theory anyway. |
