From what I read in this tread, what I can see is that people playing mostly 1v1 and 2v2 think that things should be left as they are, and people who mostly play 3v3 and 4v4 consider that OKW is OP. One thing I agree to, every game mode is very different from the other. You may discover you are verry good in 3v3 but suck in 2v2 and 1v1 but it can go also in the opposite way.
So I think people should change for a while their prefered game mode and try other game modes. I think that everything will tone down from each side.
I admit I'm playing 50% 2v2, 30% 1v1 and 20% 3v3 and usually with my teammate(s).
Related to 2v2 or 1v1 my opinon is that OKW needs no toning down except some small adjustments to kubel.
Related to 3v3, you have to take into account that the winner will be the team who coordinates best. We got beated several times in 3v3 while playing Axis with OKW and all, just because Allied team COORDINATED better than us. No faction in the world can resist to a dual/triple player attack. No player, no matter how skillfull is, will not resist when he faces 2 or 3 players at once. It's in the game, since vCoh. So did you actually wonder "Am I doing this right?" And "How much of my whining is actually a L2P issue?"
To answer to some people that stated they are sick to see so much OKW treads: OKW is the only german faction which can currently keep pace with allied, even if it has its handicaps. Ostheer is less and less capable of that. So what will be all the whining about? Ostheer? Not a chance, they are rolled by soviets and USF all the same with ease. OKW, it's another story. It's a strong faction that gives you an equal chance in front of spammers and exploiters. So must be hated alot. And loved, all the same .
Agree, basically OKW is fine in smaller game modes except Kubel spam, which is bit retarded,but it still more or less retarded in same way like is Maxim Spam on Semoisky, for example.
As i said, if there is something what really needs a fix then its USA (Double USA is almost unplayable), not nerf OKW to the ground how would some ppl want (mostly 4v4 players anyway). I admit i play 4v4 a lot and turned to smaller game modes recently, but i dont scream BALANCE and NURF, because i know from their naturality, these games modes wont never be balanced, like in any other decent RTS. |
I cant imagine how would look the late game for OKW if you play smaller game modes. If you nerf JT, how the you gonna counter ISU? If you nerf KT what you gonna do? Make 1-2 Panters and get facerolled by T34 spam?
As i said, there is lot of issues with USA, even in small games, but its not like OKW needs nerfs, its the USA need buffs - but again, what to do? Make a different structure of units, add Pershing?

Btw. for love of the god, this game is balance for 1v1 and 2v2 which is okish, not perfect but every faction can win and lose. Only US could be considered bit UP, but thats problem of their unit structure as main reason.
Glorious 4v4 WAS NOT balance in any RTS i used to play either Command and Conquer series, Starcrafts, LOTR etc etc, list is endless. If you gonna NERF OKW, you gonna hurt them a lot in 1v1 and 2v2, how hard is it understand? |

Imho Spearhead is probably best doctrine against Soviets, everything in this commander is useful (maybe except overpriced Frag bombs) , Mortar HT is beast counter against Maxims, Smoke for tanks is always just so good and Tiger, well its Tiger. |
i wouldnt say OKW is strongest faction. Especially not in 1v1 they are not. |
Hey guys, i recently start to play 2v2, after a lot of casual gaming in 4v4 and 3v3. I am trying to play all factions, but mostly USA and OKW.
Thing is, i dont really know how to play against double soviets, especially if one goes for T1 and second for T2, i tried to rush Puma, with some mediocre sucess, but it usually get counter by ZiS, fast T34 with combination of Guards, or something along this way.. Also, i play only with random teammates, so if there is some Wehrmacht guy who would play with me it would be great.
Usually, my build is around 3x volks, then T2 for Puma and Flak Halftrack, but that is not just working how would i expect, Maxims with Snipers/Fast M3 with flames are destroying me.. |
Ok, now we have topic about Falls being OP? And compare them to Shocktroops? Please dont be silly. They were nerfed already some patches ago, and if you attack them even with normal Rifles they lose 1-2 models super fast. The doctrine is terrible, offers almost nothing except Falls and Falls drop for munition dump.
Falls are fine, they serve for they purpouse well (kill arty crew, engies repairing vehicle, scouting....). I dont understand how can anyone even remotely can think this unit is OP. They are also MOST expensive infanty in game... |

I tried to play a bit 2v2 with double Ostheer yesterday, meeting double americans. I tried assault grenadiers with MG42 start, support with standart grenadiers and another MG42. First i win first 2 engagements, but after that i was overrun by horde of rifles. (I just start with playing 2v2)
I dont know, for me it feels bit hopeless, should I rush Scout car? Build some clever positioned bunker fast? Or just try Osttruppen (used them with some success yesterday in lol 4v4 games), but I dont see if that could actually work? |
