Have you seen how much punishment a brace structure with self repair can take? Assuming the guy isn't an idiot and has the structure properly supported it can be near impossible..
I have never used spearhead against Bofors. I just start damaging it with a mortar or 2 then he goes into brace and then I rush my whole army in there even if he is self repairing. The Bofors wont be able to defend itself and while its braced and self repairing I'll kill the supporting units and Bofors as much as I can. Usually I have an mg or 2 to help with that. As OKW though I just start hitting it with an ISG or a Stuka and when it goes into brace i rush in and spam incendiary grenades and shoot as many shrecks as possible up its ass. |
Sorry guys, if there is another thread about this topic (and I'm sure there has to be), but I only slpt a few hours this night and I wasn't able to find it
Hoooowever
is it only me or is the Bofors currently a game breaker in team games?
I mean it is somehow immune to death regarding its self repair and its brace funtion.
My mate and I played on Ettelbrück Rail Station yesterday and were raped pretty much by two Bofors that hit the field around 5 or 6 minutes. We had 2 mortars and two LeIGs fireing at one (!) Bofors and it simply braced, getting about 0 damage at all. Not to mention that we lost three squads after finding out that the Bofors was there at the first place.
I do not own the Brits so I don't know if that Bofors mortar stuff is a Vet1 thing or some garrison bonus or whatever, but holy crap this is heavy. The Bofors is a direct inf killer with a range that is only a bit shorter than the FlakHT afaik but much more lethal. And it can suppress units all around the map with its barrage, that's somehow an overkill for me.
All immobile implacements should be weak against artillery fire, but the Bofors (and in fact all British emplacements) are not. You actually cannot counter a Bofors without tanks at the moment and even then it is tricky because it has a lot penetration. Don't try the Raketenwerfer at it has the same or a bit less range.
Yes I play mostly Axis and yes I don't know the downsides of the Bofors (I think it costs a bit fuel?), but it
- Kills infantry that is not absolutely IMMEDIATELY retreating (even then it's 50% of the time a squad wipe)
- Can suppress and kill via it's mortar ability
- Doesn't die (honestly, it survives a direct Stuka bomb while in brace and that with more than 60% of its HP)
- Repairs itself (I still don't get why and how)
- Comes very early (about 5-8 minutes).
Am I just too tired and talking bullshit?
The point of using Indirect Fire in the first place is to get it into brace so you can attack it. So when it braces you rush it with your units and take it out. |
You missed the point....The calliope would still be a calliope.... It would just have actual weakness inspired by logic.
Yes it's a tank and should be more durable than the other rocket halftrack and trucks.
It's also a tank strapped with 30 high explosive rockets on a massive rocket rack. Logically it would be easy to disable this with a stray shot, and easy to blow it up compared to a normal Sherman. No need for a history argument, it's basic logic.
It would still be the most durable rocket arty and lethal as all hell. It just wouldn't be blatantly unbalanced. Please don't tell me you think the 640 hp 180 armor rocket arty is ok because that's the main focus of my suggested nerfs.
The cost compassion is irrelevant because you don't have to tech for it. The werfer costs a billion fuel to get out in a faction that struggles early and mid, especially vs USF.
The Stuka comes fast but isn't as lethal. Again, USF is so strong early and mid that you can get away with no major either unless you're facing a KT or tiger.
The calliope can also hit and wipe from way beyond "point" blank. It's not like you HAVE to shotgun it to wipe everything.
Now as some people such as Durkalina would say... SCREW LOGIC Kappa I do agree with this though. |
reduce caliope damage and slightly increase AoE problem fixed or if Relic's intended role for Caliope is also AT then just reduce the AoE a bit and increase scatter. |
I'm a complete nubbins dude, so it you say it isn't possible then it isn't. Trust me I'm not going to argue!
No replay I'm afraid, is there any way to automatically save them or do you have to click somewhere during the game?
It was 1v1 so no other player involved.
I bet $5 that the OKW dude laid a mine and his KT drove over it as base arty was landing. |
wait for the land mattress MingLee British Nebelwerfer to the rescue MingLee |
Kappa Kappa Kappa Kappa Kappa Kappa. Move to Scrap Yard plz |
you call me retard and post picture that doesnt even show factions played . Who is retard then. Or you just make conclusions out of ass and post meaningless stuff as a prove? Lol
Alright Mr.Wise Guy then go find the brackets yourself or maybe you don't have that ability? |
It does have the same HP as ost sniper.
What it doesn't have is the amazing RoF vet ost one does.
But looking at UKF ones vet, it almost seems like relic really wanted it to actually fight armor instead of being gimmicky crit shot unit.
It gets a beautiful received accuracy buff at vet 2 |
again you saying things that are not specific. In final part was there a game when sov player faced a sniper and won it? I dont think there was single game. Majority of those games surely OH won without any counterplay.
Jesus Christ just look at the fucking brackets you retard. Sorry for my dirty language but he just seems so clueless and is trying to say things.
