These are just a few suggestions they might not resolve the root issue, but when i get auto-minimized sometimes it helps to switch to windowed mode from full screen (alt + enter) i find this will reduce the time it takes for it to go from black to actual video(this probably wouldn't work as well in a game as there's a lot more going on) It certainly wouldn't make things worse to upgrade your video card but given CoH2s current optomization that could be just throwing good money after bad =/ |
seriously though a simple way to handle this to might be just to ask your sister to download stuff during certain times so you can play then, like at night or in the mourning whenever your not playing games.
adding to this, many torrent clients have a scheduling feature wherein you can set bandwidth limits during certain times of day/days of the week. so if she is torrenting you could set severe download and upload restrictions during peak hours and let it go buck while you sleep. |
And who said anything about moving FHT upgrade to T3?
All that was said by PQ was that taking away reinforce after upgrade and buffing default weapons could be an option.
Several people in this thread suggested it, that's what I was referring to I could have been more clear my apologies.

FHT is one of the only viable early game counters to shocks, moving the flame upgrade to t3 will probably cause more problems than it will resolve, you can quote the 5-0 german victory on yesterdays SNF but what of the cumulative stats for the whole tourney? Its pretty easy to take a subset of a sample and try to make an argument without providing proper context =/ Im by no means an expert so take my opinions with a grain of salt if you want but I think energy could be better invested dealing with other issues |
Granted id had the better part of a 12 case before this game, i feel like i could have pulled this game out but didnt, any advice would be appreciated. in my opinion after watching the rep(also after a few beers) i was too slow to reach t4 and i should have gone for an early t3, unit preservation was ok but i didnt inflict nearly enough damage and let the german basically setup and take the map. |
I hope whoever taught you to write is dragged into the street and shot. |
off topic but +1 for always sunny in philly based name
this is kind of a long way to do it but if you go to http://steamidfinder.com/old/# enter your profile url then click "Show embedded code" you'll get a string like:
http://badges.steamstatus.com/profile/default/steam/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.png
take the numbers where the series of xs are and that should be your id |
I just switched on the game- the currently free commanders should be together with the standard ones you already have, no? They aren't appearing for me.
They don't appear to be showing for me either, I've put off buying industry and elite because of how much everyone gripes about them but tbh i was kind of excited to at least try them out. Is this something thats going to roll in based on location? its still noon-thursday here. |
Just wanted to chip in by saying:
1) Whilst it is clear that Relic need to make money from selling DLC, and I think most of us here would accept and agree with that in a broad sense, I am in general agreement with the negative feedback to Elite Troops and Industry, and I hope that it's something Relic will learn from. The concept of pre-vetted 'God units' does not belong in a game which wishes to promote itself as a balanced and competitive RTS. It's a dangerous road to go down, and the fact that competitions like SNF ban those commanders is great because it should (in theory) press the point home to Relic.
2) I am a big fan of constructive criticism and voting with your wallet; if you feel strongly against something then by all means boycott it and encourage like-minded friends to do the same, but equally I would ask those people to stop posting about the same issue over and over... and over. It's great that people wish to take a stand against a concept they disagree with - and I know from discussions over at RN that a lot of CE owners felt somewhat betrayed, though let's not beat that dead horse again - but it's important to do so in a polite, balanced way. Most of us have managed to do that, but obviously a few people haven't and so I just wanted to reiterate that point.
That said, my greatest wish is for modding (with or without Steam Workshop support) to be re-enabled ASAP, so I can re-design some of these commanders and cut out the rubbish.
(Incidentally, be very careful about accusing Relic devs of lying unless you have clear proof that they have).
Cheers guys!

For people worried about realism: there is none already. This game is about as unrealistic as possible. And I am not talking just about little things like sniper flare in a blizzard, ramming the back of the tank to destroy the gun or magically appearing LMGs etc. but even the very core of the game. Just look at 2 squads shooting at each other from a distance of few feet (even without cover) for as long as it takes for the RNG to roll a hit to kill someone... most of them should be dead on the ground almost immediately in such a scenario (for example Men of War games are a lot more accurate in this area). I mean at this point you can add flying tanks, sorcerers or mechagodzilla in the game, it doesn`t matter.
As for the gameplay - I fully share OP`s concerns. I own the Tiger Ace commander, it`s complete BS and should be changed/removed from the game. Adding even more similar **** is a slap in the face of the people who like this game.
mechagodzilla OP! fuck this game! |
