Jackson have more range, double damage, and when his arrives, you can hide your Jackson safely behind your AT gun wall. OKW has same situation in MID game, requirers more micro than other faction...
I guess you didn´t understand my answer to your question. Puma is being question for OVERPERFORMING (not overpowered) due to a sum of different factors (see the other thread).
Jackson "problems" being discuss here are more over a faction design for US for the late game (which relies heavily on map design). Jackson lacks

If the Puma can outrange all his potencial med tanks targets, with 50 range, and 80 penetration value on long range , why complain people for Jacksons, with 60 ranges, and far better penetration, with DOUBLE damage then puma. In US late game, the Jacksons with 60 range, and good damage, penetration, behind/near the M1 57mm AT gun line, can deal good damage with relative safely vs enemy tanks, and make for the injured, retreated vehicles the final blow.

Problem with USF late game is that requires more micro than other factions who can rely on heavies or tanks with bigger HP pools. But i guess this is working as intended.

The point was not to win with partisans. The point is, that soviet can spawn behind enemy lines as well and clear weapon teams, take out halftracks,222's, tanks etc.
Is it fair to have to put time and effort in burning all the buildings / satchel / democharge / mine / razor wire every building on maps like anger or trois ponts?
Troll game? Skillgap? I´ve already seen that vid (lulz ftw), but we can´t really start a serious discussion comparison between Partisans vs Elite OKW infantry spawning from buildings. Theres a huge gap between:
-Paid commander
-Viable use / "Competitive" commander.
-Firepower
It´s like saying OH can use clowncar with mechanized groups, M3 is fine, comparison.

Show me a "competitive" game of someone using partisans to win.
Please, don't publicize lame strategies and exploit abuses.
The game is currently too boring to add up more people building phantom wire or bugging buildings blocking the doors.
Anyone winning games doing that should feel ashamed of himself.

CoH really just comes down to timing attacks. The micro/macro skill isn't as heavy as any other RTS games.
+Watch other good players.
+Stick to few "builds" till you get used to them.
+Do you a favor, use hotkeys. Try with grid configuration, use autohotkey to bind the keys to your liking.
Start using some abilities and control groups, and then slowly start to add a few more.
Finally, what mode do you play and what´s your ranking at the moment? If you win more than 50% you can easily be top500 at the moment. If you are between 55%-60% you can easily get top200.

Since most players played OKW, we can assume it has the highest player base. That means in order to reach a high rank, you need to be a better player than with ostheer e.g.(a better player is defined by a higher winning rate)
Getting a high rank with WFA is far easier than with EFA. Just check the rankings of some people who are between top 200-100 and their correlative rank with vCoh2 factions.
If anything, the numbers taking into account should be for those who are top50. I´m playing 1/2 games a week on 1v1 and still mantaining top100 rank.
I'm less concerned about balance and more concerned about the lack of strategy variety for most factions, though I suppose that's balance in and of itself.
And i´m pretty sad this applies to 2v2 also. I was gonna make a thread (laziness was stronger) about this, while i consider the game is improving, it´s killing any viable strats besides the usual ones. While Soviet haven´t suffer as much, OST is really dull. T4 and static support weapons allowed for a bit more of variety, same with tier skipping timings.

Before the overbuff and now after the nerf EDIT: of Katy EDIT, it was an option for when:
-I did go T1 and i didn´t want to go T2 and wait for Call ins
-I had "too much" fuel in comparison to CPs
-Opponent had SC/Puma/HT
-Opponent had a considerable amount of support weapons or playing in a sector really defensive.
-OH had T3.
Basically, i want some indirect fire and some light AT to support my partners T2-T3 play. Problem is that it dies SO FAST, that a +10hp increase would really help. |
I think that MGs use reload speed to move from one side of the building, so you could actually use bulletins to improve the movement inside a building.
Anyway, it´s easy to just dance arouond any MG inside a house, or shoot it from a side without windows.
Maxims are more efficient due to more men, faster relocation and wider range once inside. |
It only kills tanks... that's 26 pop cap and 435 fuel tied up in the slowest moving vehicle that has very little anti-inf capability. If you lose your tanks, come back with all infantry and see how he does.

Save for button and some offmap. That´s your best bet.
