In their current form, bulletins should disappear from COH3.
Since the game release, i don't think they ever provide any meaningful improvement to the game. They were there so people who knew better could abuse whatever was the most OP option at the time.
Release game? Suppression bulletins and increased HP/Damage on main line infantry.
Post nerf? Just stack all DPS bulletins for mainline infantry unless you wanted to announce you would be playing maxim spam.
When they released bulletins drop? Stack whatever unit was OP during that meta. I think this was the most diverse viable pool of bulletins we have ever seen but it just encourage to farming bulletins or playing obsessive amounts of hours. |
da fuq is a super heavy? is there a secret Maus callin?
According to the wreck value of the units we have:
Ultra Lights
Lights
Mediums
Advanced Mediums: Cmd PV, Panther, KV1, T3485...
Heavies: Tiger, TA, KV8, KV2, IS2, Churchill...
Super Heavies: KT, JT, ELE, ISU1
For OP: there's not gonna be such an overhaul, specially to non doctrinal options i'm afraid. That was the whole point of the last patch.
As far as the Jackson/non doc AT options goes, i think the only in scope option is to make the unit have 2 shell types (lower pen, hig acc, current rof vs mediums and an AP mode with higher pen, lower rof, even drastically if you consider increasing dmg to 200 per shell, and low accuracy).
I don't think 76mm or M10 are options at all as far as making them non doc. |

You keep going back to human nature (people will cheat and drama is everywhere) and listing RNG as a big issue when it's not. When luck is a factor, skill comes from maximizing and capitalizing on those situations. If those games had 0 RNG, their issues would be the same.
I think you are ignoring that drama, cheating, maphacks, win trading, etc. didn't ever exist on SC at all. "Success" comes from a world wide pool of players wanting to play at the best possible level, content creators been given the tools to do their job while there's a demand/public for it which means sponsors will put money onto the game.
I've watched the video and the only thing i can rescue is that there might be some dissonance between expectations and reality.
I think you are trying to equalize all "e-sports" to be at the same level. Just like in real life, not all people who practice every sport can have millionaire contracts and dedicate their lives to it. Minor sports have people practice it as a more committed hobby while they might have other normal jobs and fight for sponsors in order to have more time to practice. |
I see no sense of banning at the first point, so I bought a knife, I borrowed it to a murderer, the murderer killed someone, now I am guilty? WTF
You are not guilty of murder unless you knew before hand the reason why it was borrowed. Change knife for gun at now it looks way worse.
If you think this logic is stupid, let me remind you that this is how other e-sports organizations handle issues.
For ex: if you ever have ANY VAC ban linked to any account related to yours, you will never be able to participate in any CS Major. Look for Jamppi case (he is suing Valve), where he bought some CS GO accounts for a lan party when he was like 14 years old, and because one of his friends later cheated, he can't participate in any tournament.
I am open minded, that's why I accept that we each have our own separate and personal opinions to which we're all entitled to.
I'm just saying my opinion on it because honestly with a few exceptions of like for example SC2 every game that has RNG heavily involved in to with a competitive scene where there's money on the line has been a colossal failure from what I've noticed and this is just another recent example of that.
Also from what I understand Poker is a game specifically made to involve money so...
I mean no other game from my understanding at least is designed around betting, Chess, Farming Simulator and so forth are all meant for entertainment and again in my opinion at least it's fine to be competitive about it, if you wish so, however when involving money the stakes are higher and thus the chance of people being desperate to win and thus do something against the rules and so forth in order to win also increases exponentially and becomes pretty much unavoidable.
So again just to sum up my thoughts in a few words, if people wish to be competitive in games meant for entertainment that's fine and that's their own choice, however if they still wish to be competitive with money involved in a heavily RNG dependent game, then again that's still their own choice to do so but it has a very high chance of ending badly because someone will probably want to win at all costs, quite literally.
It's fine to give your opinion but i think you are confusing factors. RNG and competitiveness. It's human nature that people will sometimes go around rules to trump over others. That applies to all aspects of life. You don't need money for that to be the case, it just adds another reason/factor into the equation.
Not sure what you mean by "colossal" failure. Popularity is mostly based around the number of people playing/watching them. You can't compare a game like SC2 which probable have 50/100 times more active players, more if we consider those who don't play it at all and just watch.
RNG in different degrees appear in many games. AOE2/WC3 have it. You skipped the fact that things like Magic or HS exist. King of the hill FPS have randomized loot. FIFA Ultimate team is a thing (puke). Pokemon is a thing. War Thunder/World of tanks.
...
Word of wisdom. You don't improve things by burning bridges with people.

Well here's another stupid question.
Why have money on a "competitive" and "esports ready" title full of RNG and bugs, unbalances and so forth in the first place.
I mean of course people will abuse bugs, use OP and unbalanced units and even cheat if they're desperate enough to win said money.
It breaks the basic "code" of gaming which is to play to have fun because it's meant for entertainment.
It's simple. Be more open minded. Those "codes" you infer are simple your own personal values.
Chess is "just" a tabletop game. It doesn't stop it from been a recognized as an Olympic sport. For some people it's just a hobby. Others dedicates their lives to study, teach it and play it.
And just because it's a centuries old game where it's supposed to challenge the intellect of 2 people, it doesn't stop it from having people at even master/GM level cheating.
Poker is full of RNG and there's millions on the line. For years it has been on TV, meaning there's a public for watching it.
There been RNG doesn't stop it from been competitive or having money on the line. Cardgames are a thing and they move millions (Magic, Hearthstone, LOL). Not sure how popular are they now but in the last years a new subgenre arise which is the Auto battlers which is even worse in the RNG aspect if you ask me.
Once you understand that entertainment is subjective, anything can be shaped to be competitive. And as long as there are people who want to compete and people who want to watch it, it means a scene can be created.
You'll be surprised if you knew that Farming Simulator or Google maps have/had competitions.

@Mods, why don't we close this. I think everyone said what they have to say. We will continue discussing this within the realm of ML and/or PMs.
The moment Seeking or some of you guys give word that you agreed to return things back into private you can contact any of the mods or oranges online to close the thread.
While things are heated atm, IMO it's fair to keep the thread open. Even if i don't like how things are been handled atm.

Sigh. Check date. Locked |
Fhq got already a nerf.
Before the current version i didnt need cp and could be used on foreign soil. Now you have to use it in your own territory, which at least in 3v3 and 4v4 takes a lot from this ability since you cant use it as aggressive as it used to be.
I climbed rank one in 4v4 back in 2016 with it. For 1v1 i cant really tell since it dont play that anymore.
On 2v2, there were certain atrocious maps and spawn points, that if you didn't check which commanders they have and skipped garrison your unit you would lose the game. |
I'm interested in seeing what changes you guys have in store for the thing. I know exactly what I'd like to happen with it, but I'm expecting mostly number tweaks.
Can we expect to see any preliminary patchnotes in the nearish future, or is there still a lot of iteration/design work to do before you guys are even closed to finished with the Commander Patch? I always love reading through the notes.
Ehhhh, I'd still really rather they just did away with "bundle" abilities like that. It's terribly limiting to force you to receive an unit you simply do not want in order to get one that you do. The fact they gave USF Transfer Orders last patch leads me to believe the Balans Teem is in agreement, and we might see these poorly designed abilities be reworked.
Assault Guards HT, 250 Gren and PG should be changed but in case that's not possible i think that swapping the Gren one with the PG one makes sense. |
...
I think we are mixing things here. One thing is a game wide ban coming from the studio developer or in case they relegate that function to an anti cheat system.
The other one is been vetoed from playing in competitive games. Whether is due to private anti cheat, third party review system or infringing in other kinds of behaviour.
1- R6: one of the best players was banned (unjustified) because people found his plays to be TOO GOOD and the only thing MOSS (private) detected was an inhumane amount of clicks press through his macro (just number 4 been pressed). That was enough for a ban. Even if it was proven that MOSS was unreliable and there's an easy explanation as to why that number of key pressing was possible.
2- CS:GO. If you are found boosting, win trading, betting, you bet Valve will fuck your ass hard. Good luck if you are found playing with the account of someone cheating or even worst in the same computer as one.
3- Any other E-Sport.
Toxicity. Be it during events or PUB games. Depending on how big the game is, those standards goes further into IRL behaviour and social media.
Outside of few clips, it's hard to claim with certainty if something is just "game sense" or maphacks, therefore making plenty of the list inconclusive or unreliable. The problem for Seeking comes when all the other factors are taken into account. |
