Tbh I would much rather lead by example in EVE online than COH. With all the experience and wealth I have in EVE it would be easier for me to serve there than COH which I play just for fun. Not because I want to brag but at some point I was among top10 richest players in EVE so I was no noob there. Not greedy rather a wealthy visionary that tried to use wealth to help build some good teams as wealth is power. Finance/wealth, Diplomacy and PVP those are the 3 cornerstones that you need to succeed as a team in EVE. There are two types of leaders, those that use power to serve others and those that use it to rule for self-serving purposes. . EVE was just so time consuming which are why I started playing RTS again. Never in EVE have I seen so many top players like COH2 treat other players (especially new players) like crap. Some top players seem more interested insulting people than helping the community to grow. In general, top players in EVE are more mature than COH2 (dont jugde EVE based on the public forum, lots of good team players rarely even use that). I love COH2 as a game but the community seem to be dieing but still hoping for the best. It also looks like a waste of time playing with some people like COHexperts. Sadly just had a game with Ir0nRoman (COHExpert). Yes the game are not balanced, but that's no excuse to behave like a spoiled child that did not get what he wanted for christmas. http://www.coh2.org/ladders/playercard/steamid/76561197988611774 Screenshot of ingame chat: http://imageshack.us/f/203/9kil.jpg/ 1. Would not say hi or hf. 2. I won first game, then he insult me. No gg. 3. He win second game, then insult me again. Bad winner + bad loser = epic fail. Next time I might just surrender from the start and he can have a free win. Dont even want to waste my time or energy playing with these immature players. If this was EVE online and you had been on a really good team something like this would happen to immature players or bad team players: 1. You get a warning from CEO or director for beeing a trouble maker, "carebear" or socially retarded etc. Change or leave. On some teams you wont even get a warning, some will just scream "carebear" or "spy" etc.. in corp chat or TS and then you wont just get kicked but you will be "kill on sight" by your own team mates. 2. Get lucky and there might be a second warning. 3. If you at this point still show a bad attitude there wont be a third warning, you'll get kicked from the team. It's ALOT of hard work building a large good team and just not worth the effort having any trouble maker on the team. Been there, done that. Celebrity wannabes are attention seekers which might be good solo players but in general they cause to much trouble (both ingame and outgame) for the leadership. A bad attitude is contagious which eventual will spread and become a direct threat to the longevity of the team. I have seen alot of good teams in EVE self implode or die this way due to attitude problems. Pretty sad to watch. Once a bad attitude spread to the leadership the team will eventual self implode or split into 2 or more smaller teams, just a matter of time. I doubt COHExpert (except maybe Vonivan which seem ok) will lead by example to help correct any attitude problems within the COH community. Just look at Barton which got an epeen at the size of Mount Everest. http://www.twitch.tv/stephennjf If all streamers would follow the same lead as Stephenn it would help attract more mature and team oriented players to COH. There are NO community without good team players. It's the same rule in real life, take more than you give back to the local or global community and your just a consumer not a team player. It's bad to be spoiled, give you a false perception of entitlements and superior to other attitude bs. Solo players are not necessary good team players that help build a strong community. If some players think they can build a good community based on skill and elitism I suggest go play League Of Legends. Good game but the LoL community have earned a bad reputation for good reasons. Some players in the COH community need to grow up and learn to show some respect, friend or foe. This is coming not just from a regular player but someone that have personal help to build (which took years) big teams in games such as EVE online since closed beta. If you want to build a strong community or teams in general you just cant tolerate a bunch of spoiled kids/adults muddying the water which scare mature players away from COH. I love COH2 as a game but getting fed up with the lack of respect from other players. At some point apathy just kick in and you stop caring. A bad attitude is contagious. I just dont understand why any people in their right mind can tolerate players with a bad attitude or abusive behaviour. Some players are just borderline to sociopathic behavior in that they seem to enjoy hurting and insulting other players for no good reasons. Finally attitude reflect leadership. So if you are streaming games or clan leader etc. make sure to lead by example. A clip from "Remember the Titans." Teammates Gerry and Julius have a heart-to-heart discussion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guA_4AzXqh0 In: Lobby |
Thread: SNF 5 training buddies31 Oct 2013, 20:31 PM
http://www.coh2.org/ladders/playercard/steamid/76561198058250376 Not just interested in training partners for SNF but long term training and testing new strategies for 1vs1/2vs2 (especially when new patches come out). Can play both factions but prefer Ostheer. I have trouble keeping a consistent skill level but on a good day I can beat top 100 soviet players. Time: Weekdays after 6 PM (GMT+1) and weekends (saturday/sunday/monday) after 3 PM. Requirement: Dont add me if you are a bad winner/loser. I have a good attitude 90%+ of the time and expect the same from you. For 2vs2 and other teambased games skill are not primary but rather a good attitude and willing to learn. With enough training and mentorship, skills and experience can be gained but attitude is a matter of moral character. In my 15+ years of experience both as a regular player and visionary leader of 100+ players (EVE online) you dont want to play as a team with a bunch of wannabe celebrities (just a total waste of time imho). Building a team on a bad attitude is like building a house on quicksand, it might work for a while in 2vs2 but for any big teams such as in EVE online and I can guarantee that your team will FAIL (self implode) as soon that elitism/celebrity bandwagon of idiots meet a good team that know what they are doing to play as one team based on good virtues such as patience, loyalty, respect friend and foe, commitment to SERVE, honesty and courage etc.. Sorry for the rant but Im fed up with the immature and spoiled kids/adults in COH that seem to have no clue at all what it mean to play as a team. Seriously, STFU with all the personal insults. Just calm down and learn to show some respect, friend or foe. If not, go back to kindergarten and grow up. In: Lobby |

Thread: Why playing northern Langres need rebalancing 14 Oct 2013, 11:48 AM
Using assgrens/lmg grens and tiger I could easily cap the cut-off points from GeneralGiap playing in the North. Show why the northern cut-off point (right side) need to be moved or do some map rebalancing because it to easy to cut off the north atm. In: Replays |

This tier-0 spam with ostruppen and conscript still need a nerf to make combined arms more viable than spam. Relic should buff soviet T1/T2 so they dont have to spam T0 so much. Best way to make a consistent change to both factions early game imho: 1) Decrease building time for soviet T1/T2 tech buildings 2) Increase call-in cooldown for ostruppen 3) Increase building time for conscript so they have to build T1/T2 early 4) Give Penals the ability upgrading to PTRS-41 for a munition cost so tier1 dont need Guards in the early game. Penals are not viable atm because they have no AT. Give them PTRS-41 and they would have great synergy with cons merge ability. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: Dealing with Early T-708 Oct 2013, 17:47 PM
Best counter to T70 (should get Helpinghans Gold Seal of Approval®): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiBUW8gZ0RU I dont think there are any top player that dislike T70 spam more than Helpinghans. If you dont like playing as the underdog against T70 (or early P4/Ostwind as Soviet), just learn from Helpinghans and Vonivan and then abuse the crap out of cons or osttruppen spam to control and/or deny both fuel points. Deny the fuel and no more worry about early T70 or P4 spam. In 1vs1 tier-0 spam (cons and osttruppen) are OP for both factions because they can potential control or deny both fuel points from your opponent. For germans if you dont spam osttruppen against someone with equal skill you'll at best be able to keep one fuel point (not both). If you mess up and get flanked its pretty much gg. Risk vs reward, there are no good reasons to tech early because Tier-0 spam work the best to cap and then tech to whatever you want once you have map dominance.. Soviet dont even have a choice and has to spam cons because T1/T2 building time are to long. On higher level play, german halftrack can also be used to control and/or deny fuel but risk vs reward they are not worth it for less experienced players. Even high level players sometimes overextend the halftrack or dont use it to deny fuel. Bottom line, tier-0 spam are boring to watch and play with. Just decide for yourself if you want to win games or play for fun. EDIT: Dont build 6 osttruppen squads like Hans. Require to much micro for less experience players, just build 3-4 to cap and then tech to whatever you want. |
Thread: Ostruppen seriously7 Oct 2013, 04:59 AM
Yes they need a nerf and I play mostly germans. However cons spam are also abit OP against many of the Germans doctrines (without an early FHT) which is one reason why many players are starting to abuse Osttruppen to counter cons spam. I dislike playing with Osttruppen spam but also dislike pure cons spam. So the early balance kinda sucks atm for both factions. COH2 should be about using combined arms not spam. But I dont blame Relic but SEGA policy, just look at Total War Rome 2 which should still be a beta game. I doubt Relic's balance team had enough time to test and balance the new commanders (a good idea, but poorly executed!). Relic is not that stupid to make it pay to win. Fix: - Trenches should cost manpower similar to fire pit OR make trenches in captured territory only For the insane early cap power of 6 osttruppen squads this could be fixed in several ways but best imho; 1) Make vet weaker so they dont scale into the midgame 2) Limit the squads you can get to 3-4 similar to relief infantry 3) Longer call-in cooldown Short term fix similar to assault grenadiers (until a long term fix has been tested): 1) Make each squad cost at least 15 munition so the FHT come later and players have to build some T1 units before they have 90 munitions for 6 ostruppen squads.
