The Sturmtiger is trash. It is impossible to get to vet 5 in a typical match, extremely expensive and comes at a time when Allies are usually spamming vehicles, extremely long reload time and very short range. Its vet 1 grenade ability is pretty useless as well. |
If im not mistaken they removed the 200% game resolution option. |
If you are going against Americans I would advise against building Panzer Grenadiers as you need to deal with the heavy infantry presence. Grenadiers are a much better option especially if you can manage to Panzerfaust an enemy tank to allow for your Pak to pick it off.
Build teller mines often and as early as you can. Usually you can expect a light vehicle (usually armored car or the flak halftrack) or a stuart early on. Place them on roads and on your flank areas. Also place them along your retreat path. In the event that you need to fall back players will often over extend and chase to get some extra kills which would allow you to punish them for that.
If you do make Panzer Grenadiers with Panzershreks, try to keep them near a Pak to protect it from getting circle strafed. |
The SU-85 is in a pretty good spot. What does need to be changed though is the useless Vet 1 ability (this goes for all Soviet Units) and making T4 more viable. (Swapping T70 and Su76 would help) |
Company of Heroes 1 had the option to Enable/Disable Language Filters, it should be the same with Company of Heroes 2. Adding a mute function would also be nice as well. |
I find that the Su-85 works well when on maps with large open spaces but on more limiting maps it can be rather bad due to not having a turrent combined with poor pathing of vehicles. Removing three point turns and fixing the overall pathing when it comes to reversing would help the unit out alot.
Another issue is that German Tanks have useful veterency at all ranks where as Soviet vehicles only have 2 ranks of veterency which are useful. Giving it a useful Vet 1 with better pathing would fix most of the issues. A slight price decrease wouldn't be bad either.

The biggest problem with Company of Heroes 2 is that they changed things for the sake of change instead of building upon what the franchise was known for. If I go to McDonalds I expect my Big Mac to be a Big Mac no matter what McDonalds I go to. Relic on the other hand took the recipe and changed it without consulting with fans as to what they wanted. Company of Heroes 2 is a crappy chicken sandwhich under the disguise of being served as a juicy burger, that is one reason as to why people are mad and Relic is clueless as to what they should do. |
P-47 is not hard to deal with. Blitz out of the area, use smoke or simply just move. Unless your engine is damaged or your tank is already low (in which case why is out in the open to begin with) you should not lose any tanks to the P-47. |
Personally I feel that rear echelon troops are fine the way they are. They are inexpensive and all three levels of vet are useful. What Americans really need is cheaper access to Bazookas and Bars (say 40 ammo each) which would also help rear echelons as you could afford to upgrade them.
If a change were made to rear echelon troops what I would like to see is the ammo cost on volley fire removed. Americans are already ammo starved as it is. Back when Volley Fire was OP the cost was justified but being as how crappy it is now they should remove the cost. |
Something as simple as choosing native voices for each faction should be included in the game. |
