The ostheer t4 panther is not as viable as it seems based upon the stats of the unit. It works well at range (with view range help) but with line of sight this allows for it to become a difficult tool to use. The Panther only does well against the slow and uncoordinated fleets of allied vehicles. Knowing that any ally player of skill would find a way to abuse line of sight, combined arms, and well planned and executed pushes the panther has issues because of its smaller numbers.....this is where luft comes in and becomes broken. It allows for the panther (meant to be counted in mass and in combined arms) to then become a massed produced fleet of unstoppable power. Then on top of that, any skilled axis team would use "skill Planes" thus wiping anyone and everyone. That my friends is broken, stupid, and unfair.....but fun as crap at times.
-FYI any post that wishes to argue this point is welcome to INTELLIGENTLY state why and if wanted can take me and (the bears) up upon a test to verify points or even find new ones so that this thread can be constructive and enlightening.
i guess we'll just agree to disagree. i think holding out for panther is pretty hard in 2v2 but once you do, it is worth it. its anti tank power is awesome imo. especially when i am not going tiger. i am trying to use other commanders atm.
i don't think i'll test panthers with y'all bears just yet. i'll just see you on the automatch. i have met, hunted and mauled by plenty of bears that way. |
Interesting idea but giving cons a free out of combat perma sprint would be batshit op
i thought it would be like a timed ability. maybe 2-4 min? |
I think Luft Supply is just fine in the aspect that it nullifies heavy armor for the ostheer player. They are stuck with having a panther as their biggest tank. We all know that is a piece of crap. Now if the Luft player supplies an OKW player then there is a bit of an issue. While the Ostheer player lacks units and struggles to maintain a presence on the field, all the others players have to do is hold the map until they can spam tanks and another ostheer player spams CAS.
-And this all comes from an axis player that does this constantly with fellow bears in 2v2 - 4v4 games.
how is panther crap? ostheer t4 i completely viable in most cases 2v2+. and panther takes care of all allied tanks pretty good to just outright making them obsolete. |
didn't you already make a thread like this a few days ago?
i think all mg42 needs is traverse speed increased |
very interesting idea. i think making air support something more than just a commander ability or major one click ability could be very interesting.
may be in coh3.... |
what about reinforce speed plus sprint for cons while not in combat? that would help cons to reach the frontline fast |
Was that sarcasm or just nonsense?
How bout we look at it in a different way, since a Panzershreck only rarely penetrate Soviet armor, that means the Panther and PAK gun can't reliably penetrate the Soviet Heavies.
We're looking at it in a different perspective yet nothing has changed. What's the point of bringing other weapons up? 50 percent is 50 percent that means it will penetrate half the time, bringing up other weapons doesn't disprove my point. If you think Panthers reliably penetrate the IS2 than good for you, however, the Panther rounds can still bounce of Soviet Heavies so what have we learned from what you just posted? Nothing! The Panther also have a much higher chance to penetrate the Soviet Heavies than the Panzershreck at around 65 percent. The Panther's penetration has nothing to do with the Panzershrecks penetration.
not a sarcasm or non sense. straight up disagreement with your view.
you think panzerschrek is already ineffective against heavies and you gave its penetration chances to back your statement up. but the fact is that other german weaponaries such as pak40 and panther at range does not have much better penetration value, although they are invaluable when facing against sov heavies. |
Replacing Panzershrecks with anti tank rifles is a horrible idea. If you want Panzershrecks to be only effective against medium tanks and not effective against Heavy tanks, well it's already like that in CoH2. A Panzershreck has 180 to 160 penetration while the Soviet Heavy armor like IS2, KV1, and ISU152 has around 340 armor. That's only a 50 percent chance of penetrating.
...
50%? no prob. panthers and paks don't have much higher pen rate against soviet heavies and they work fine against the heavies. |
when using AP, the switch weapon looks like a silver shell on silver background with yellow explosion
when using HE, its just a silver shell on silver background.
it seems pretty clear to me. |
I think there is also a popcap issue at play, The Kt at 26 popcap requires a signifigantly higher pop of medium tanks to engage roughly 4 t34-76 or 3 su85s. The panthers popcap is also a little low at 16 imo when the jackson is at 14.
I think both increasing the popcap of the KT signifigantly, the panther by like 2 and increasing the performance or decreasing the popcap of some medium vehicles like the jackson, sherman, t34 could help this issue considering a p4 costs more than sherman/t34 same pop and jackson costs the same as a p4 and has 2 more pop
Units should be evaluated based on their price not on some conversion madness. The unit should perform like it costs 260 fuel or just give okw full resources and make them pay 390 fuel. If their tanks are evaluated on the other factions fuel cost then there was no point in giving them reduced income in the first place.
Furthermore I Think the KT does perform like a 260 fuel tank, its really not that far off an is2 its really just got a much better offense( and blitz instead of secure mode ) but using half your popcap on tanks that may still struggle to kill it seems ridiculous
This.
Blitz should not work in reverse.
