More modding support is always welcome...
You simply cant build great overhaul mods with new factions, etc, in CoH2 like ypu could in CoH1 |
Unfortunately RelicNews, which has been the hub of CoH modding for many years, has closed down and is no longer available.
To continue where it left off, I created a subreddit which contains a wiki with tutorials and tools, as well as a place to ask questions and discuss modding CoH

From what I understand, since most, if not all of the original creators of CoH1 have left, its basically impossible for them to modify or fix the game because the don't know what any of the old code does and they don't have the time or resources to fix it.
They would have to hire back the original creators like what they did when they moved CoH1 to steam, however that costs money and resources, and with CoH1 probably barely selling any copies and Dawn of War III on the horizon, its basically extremely low on their list of priorities. Unfortunately the chances of it being fixed are low. The best hope we would have is if they opened up come of the source code to the game engine, but the chances of that happening are extremely slim as well. |
You can't have Insane alpha strike ( enought to one shot a medium tank) and a fast reload gun, it already have the same damage as jackson main gun, but slower reload, and +80 damage at vet 3, so a total of 280 damage
"it's the only one that outright requires munitions spend"
- He is the only one that can one shot a medium tank, its original
They should keep the 17 pounder reload the way it is, but greatly increase damage, or give it APDS rounds. Those APDS rounds in real life were extremely powerful; heres an account from a german tank which was hit by 17 pounder APDS:
"The British gun fired a small high velocity projectile. I saw one of our tanks after having been hit by it. There was a small hole punched in either flank - one the projectile's entry point, the other its exit. The tiny munition had passed through the vehicle with such speed that everything within the hull not welded down had been sucked out through the exit hole. Including the crew. We never identified their bodies, for all that remained of them was a red stain upon the ground extending some twenty metres from the wreck." |
They should just make it a commander only unit like they did with the elefant. In early beta of CoH2, the elfant was a buildable unit that didnt require a commander, but it was so OP that it was just better to make it a commander only unit. The same thing might be best for the king tiger. |
I think community balance mod would become popular if it had access to the player search and ELO tables. Custom games are a pain to arrange, it easier for people to search games and let the system seemly match similar skill levels for matches.
That would be nice for all mods. It was possible in COH1, so I hope they can do the same for COH2 |
Yeah, the ability is rather lackluster. Definitely needs an accuracy increase at least, or make it not tied to the main barrage recharge timer |
Agreed.
IS-2s having the same frontal armor as King Tigers is not logic. One is an end of tech tree tank for almost double the initial fuel cost, the other one can be spammed wite doctrine and requires no tech.
If the KT has its frontal armor nerfed for Allies to fight it frontally, the same logic should apply to the IS-2.
The IS-2 actually is more survivable than the KT now since it can move faster eventually leading to the IS-2 being the way cheaper and even better performing tank.
IS-2s really have become a problem.
The IS2 is commander only and restricted to soviets, and the only allies super tank in the game. Its fine, and besides the axis have more powerful anti tank weapons which can kill it than the allies have for killing the king tiger |
It seems fine to me. Sure its more vulnerable to Jacksons, and it should be, similar to how the KT in coh1 would shit its pants at the sight of a Sherman firefly.
Cost could probably use a decrease though |
Same here. Don't know too much about web development, but surely if you can get the site lookingas good as it does now, you can create an equally good mobile version |
