I think you just need to develop your intuition. Think along the lines of: "when am I in danger of being riflenaded"? Generally it will be at mid-long range fights, where your unit and his unit are stationary (generally in cover). Therefore when that happens you can be prepared for the guy stepping down for a grenade and avoid it, or else listening for the "grenade" shout from your troops. Don't worry about retreating if you don't feel up to moving them away manually. |
That is exactly how T-34/76 performs in-game under my control! Yay, Relic! Realism!
I think he's referring to BT-2, but its connection to T-34 is blurry (except maybe the fact that fails of BT series forced USSR to develop T-34)
So not actually an American design at all really |
Agreed, it's in a weird place. It's available to purchase (but you'd never have the Fuel) at about the same time that the Soviet scout car is about to come out. If you're really dedicated to getting it, then you can bring it pretty early on in the game, but it'll be useless because there'll be nothing for it to shoot, then when it's worth bringing out, you might as well have a Panther. It's another example of OKW's poor faction design.
Someone in another thread nailed OKW when they described the faction as a: "Wehraboo wank fest". Too much Krupp STEEL . Not enough thought into what the faction is going to do, counter, etc. Their susceptibility to the Soviet scout car opening. Guys, that strat has been in the game since day one and it has always been pretty dangerous, and you make a faction with less ability to counter it then OH does??? |
Am intrigued by WTF CoH3 will be / look like?
SEGA must have it on their own 'road map.'
Don't worry, by the time Relic announce what's planned for it, the game will already have been out one day. |
Worked fine last time (vCoH).
JPIV is underused as it is, don't nerf it now. |
There's too little communication, too much left undone, too much that has been done isn't enough and too much that hasn't needed to be done.
I think the sheer lack of communication is the killer. I wasn't interested in WFA when it was announced, but I was still excited about new content.
I love CoH2, no strategy game out there does what it does. But a whole bunch of things are coming together make things worse, Lack of communication as above, the community, the rampant fanboyism (which I'm a part of admittedly), the sometimes ridiculous decisions made by the balance team on what they will and won't change. Silly game mechanics left untouched since launch. All of it is piling up and I think its too late to turn it around. Unless they actually show us meaningful footage/gameplay/information, soon and regularly, even just a unit preview or something, I doubt the community's interest will be reengaged. I'd like to think Relic will learn a lesson from this, but I'm not sure they will. |
I've seen MG42s a lot in replays and whilst as the opposite player I'm usually glad they don't suppress me, I think they do need an improvement in that area.
However, they need to be careful not to go overboard. I've often run 4-5 squads blobbed together because either I've been tired or else I've been surprised and the entire blob will be suppressed near immediately, something which all other MGs can't do particularly well. |
So Comrades...
If we're going to have OH with Tiger Aces, when do Soviets get a Noble Sniper?
Be careful what you wish for...
(quick wikipedia search reveals top German sniper had 350, top Soviet one is over 500...) |
I've always wanted to try to follow Caesar's lead when it comes to leading/generalship.
I'd like to put down Chuikov, but beating up your subordinates in this day and age comes across as a bad career move... |
We need the Scheldt... |
