seems you havenot played coh2 too much, dont bring your coh1 skill to coh2, becasue only capping-cover system is the same, rest of totally different (just watch Inverse's posts..)
btw that is why lots of pro coh1 players s*cks in coh2...
I think assgren is just too weak for their cost. They should at least making an upgrade from MP40 into STG44 in later stage of the game.
Their nades are worthless, their guns are total shit unless 0m range. All Soviet have to do when spotting assgren is to run, gather and blob cons together behind cover.
They can't even do a nice job like MP40 volks protecting flanks of MG42.
I think i found my problem with this, its not the unit thats the problem. its when combined with troop training, an early vet3 pgrens is extremely powerful. without vet though, they are manageable.
although it means later pz4, but with them being upgradable with schrecks at any time means using armour to counter them may not be the best.
I still think they have too much dps, but at least they are soft.
Vet 3 PG are not KCH
Getting a sniper is really hard for you?
You do realize that you can destroy ghost wire with small arms now? It only takes a couple of shots to destroy it, so you can easily clear any ghost wire while your units are running up to it.
Ie. it really is not an issue if you try "abuse" it now seeing how it doesn't work.
I'm okay with wire being restricted to Pioneers, it makes sense that they'd be the ones handling it the wire. I do think it is odd though that Grenadiers (and conscripts, and pretty much any regular infantry) can't fill a sack with dirt and stack it, though.
I wouldn't be opposed to a 'preset' sandbag wall, like what the conscripts can build. People are probably going to hop in and say "but Ost can build bunkers". Yes, but bunkers cost manpower, piles of dirt are free.
The wire now, is not fine. It takes ages to build. How does that make sense wiring a small chokepoint require more time than building a base building.
I am still proudly using ghost wiring tactic now, I don't see anything wrong with it.
