Good for whom exactly?
If you're an Allied fanboy or an Allied player, I'm sure they look great indeed. If you're an Axis player, this are detrimental.
Also I'm not fucking LolCake >_<
Seriously, is it possible that someone just disagrees with the entire Pro-Ally movement that PQ is taking this game towards?
Axis just have been getting reamed by the Nerf Bat every time an Allied player cries.
Stats were posted showing that top 200 Axis have higher win rates than top 200 Allies, and dramatically higher win rates than USF.
Those are facts, no crying involved. |
Couple of ninja changes, will take a while to actually shift through the patch so this is very much a work in progress. More tomorrow, perhaps.
Paratrooper lieutenant/captain bonuses removed, accuracy bonus at vet2 nerfed back from 1.4 to 1.25*
Stuart shell shock lost deflection damage (50% --> 0%), reload speed slowed (1.5 --> 1.75), scatter decreased
Pack Howitzer AOE decreased from 6 to 4, scatter reduced
Raketenwerfer can be suppressed
.50 cal vet2 penetration nerfed to be same as vet0 gun (1.5 --> 1 far)
EZ8 400/145 --> 380/140, Armor 215 --> 200
Ostruppen given 1.2 armor
Sherman smoke wind up/wind down removed, reload shortened and scatter reduced.
*Accuracy bonus nerf does not apply to Recon paratroopers
Thanks, Cruzz!
I wonder if that Sherman smoke change means it can be used on the move now without stopping the tank. |
"I heard Jerry was 10 feet tall."
"Pershing reporting!"
Two of the most iconic US lines for me, I think both from CoH1. |
The Priest is actually pretty good. The problem is that it's a huge fuel sink, so you can't really have tanks/TDs AND arty. You have to choose. And the tradeoff -- forgoing armor -- is usually not worth it unless you're already dominating or you're playing a very campy enemy.
Might be better once Walking Stuka gets nerfed and 57mm survivability goes up in relation. But if you need AT with Walking Stuka on the field, you're forced to go Jackson, which obviously needs fuel.
Also, could just be me, but it seems like the accuracy bonus you get for having LoS with howitzers isn't nearly as great as it was in CoH1.
B4 is a huge gamble IME because it only fires once and has the possibility of completely missing everything you are aiming at.
Walking Stuka is far and away the most OP arty in the game due to its precision. Basically there is no RNG. If you miss, it's your fault, and it blows to smithereens anything in its blast radius. |
I agree this would be a cool upgrade for Assault Engineers or even Rear Echelon squads. Or even give it to some kind of infiltration squad and let them use it to ambush.
Wouldn't kill me if they didn't add this, but it might be cool for variety's sake. |
Let me add and modify some stuff to my liking.
T-34 Armour increase.
Panzer IV Armour reduction.
Panzer IV gun penetration buff
Howitzers buff
Mortars AoE enlargement
Soldiers don't clump up. (Not realistic and promotes squad wipes)
Maxim AoE suppression buff
Why on earth would you want the jagdtiger to still shoot through buildings or the airdropped MG & AT gun to remain unmanned? |
Cross-posting from the official forums. Here's what I'd like to see:
-Bazooka needs better accuracy and a cost reduction. It should be able to snipe Kubels from a distance and putting a double-zook squad inside a building should deter all light vehicles (puma, etc.)
-BAR needs DPS increase, and possible in-field upgrade for extra munitions to circumvent retreating to base to upgrade
-Vanilla sherman needs slight armor increase, slight acceleration increase, and smoke to not stop movement
-Nerf to kubel suppressing units in green and yellow cover
-Scatter nerf to walking stuka and AOE nerf to lower squad wipes and equipment destroys
-Jagdtiger no longer shoot through buildings, slight armor nerfs, no more high "shock" chance
-Airborne .50 cal MG & 57mm AT gun drop already manned
-WC1 moved back to 0CP, DPS or armor nerf if this is too OP
-Armor Crew Thompson switched to "Elite Crew" upgrade, which gives crews an armor upgrade to make the more durable, Thompsons, and locks the tank when they pop out of it so it cannot be stolen
-Pack howitzer setup and unpack times decreased and price reduction from 480MP to 380MP
-Pop cap of M1 Priest reduced
-Kubel auto-MG changed to MG toggle with instant setup but 5-6 second unpack during which time the gun cannot fire |
I am hoping for and expecting some Allied buffs and Axis (especially OKW) nerfs in light of the statistics Legends posted on the official forums.
If not, then I can see many people abandoning ship for good. This October patch is Relic's chance to prove they know what they are doing balance-wise. But it may be their last chance for many people.
If that is done and some useless doctrines buffed up, then I can see the game blossoming. I won't ever give up on Peter. ![:snfPeter: :snfPeter:](/images/Smileys/snfpq.png) |
People want the Pershing as a breakthrough tank. Americans don't have any. Jackson is a TD, and Sherman is a glorified infantry-muncher. USF doesn't have any meatshield tanks. The closest you get is a bulldozer Sherman hiding behind the heavy cover it builds.
Whereas we can say that most Axis tanks are brute force tanks that encourage A-moving, with EZ mode smoke + blitz to escape death, USF tanks are all finesse units. Shermans must use hit and run tactics to do damage and Jacksons have to carefully manage range at all times.
Compare this to A-moving Jagdtiger who can shoot at immense range through buildings and world terrain and take a hell of a beating.
So, yes, part of the problem is the lack of armor on both the Jackson and the Sherman. They both need armor slightly beefed up for better survivability in the absence of Allied War Machine or similar ability.
EDIT: I think it would be cool if the borderline-useless Rear Echelon squads could, with an upgrade, gain the ability to over-repair Allied armor, to maybe 130%. This would be reflected in-game visually with sandbags being welded on. |
It's as OP as the units its used to kill.
Lol, pretty much this.
It's USF's best bid to counter late game clumps of Jagdtiger/Tiger/Panther with Walking Stuka hiding behind it.
I bet late-war Germans, with their lack of air cover, also thought P47s were OP.
IMO it's fine in the current meta and should only be changed (slightly) if OKW is hit hard with the nerf bat and USF anti-armor improved. |
