What if the thompson upgrade gave the squad the ability to sprint, to help them get into their effective range? This would also give them more utility to get out of sticky situations that are inherent in a squad the must get in close to function optimally. |
Yup, happened to me twice in ~12 games today. |
I think the walking stuka is in a good spot. Its a significant fuel investment, and its the only reliable indirect fire that the OKW has access too. The simple counter is be aware, get your retreat off early, and don't blob. Seems fair enough to me. |
Good example of how to deal with the common rifle > M15 > (not so common) easy 8 wumbo combo. Warning, this is a .temp recording cause I forgot to save the game. |
I haven't seen it since the alpha. When I played in the alpha the vetted squad took FOREVER to produce, which sort of negated its shock value. I didn't really think it was worth it, as the time it took the squad to hit the field was so damn long it would have been better to just have 2 rifles and let them vet on their own. Can anyone clarify if that has changed since then? How long does it take to produce compared to the normal rifle squad? |
This new commander seems SO OP for OKW. It's like give them everything WM has....ok... S-mines and the PAK 43 and normal bunkers, jesus!!!, LOL.... wow when can I get my hands on this.
What is the name of this commander BTW?
I think its called defensive fortifications doctrine. To be honest, the Pak43 is really expensive in terms of pop cap and is only viable on maps like this where there are two vps close together. Also, the OKW bunker can't be upgraded into anything but an MG, which was disappointing to find out. Haven't really tried out the flak yet, this was my first and only game with the commander, but I like the stability it gives in terms of being able to defend a flank w/ s-mines, and on certain maps the pak43 is pretty sweet. I think my setup was a little sloppy, to grouped up. Some indirect fire could have really hurt me. |
How do i deal with maxim spam in 1v1 as OKW ?
i can link a replay if somebody can tell me how to insert it in a post - dont see any attachment button ... ( dont mean to link a replay that i upload to the site seperately ) Elite infantry deal w/ maxims quite well. An ober squad in green cover will win outright against a maxim, and falls are good to pop out behind and clear them. In the early game dont bother with volks, 2 sturmpio squads and a kubel if you know he went T2 to start off with work well. The kubel can supress the maxim and you can use your sturmpios to flank and finish. Rinse and repeat. Start T1, get a ISG and go T4 for obers and a Pz2. |
So? It's a really fun game and your getting content for free. I just don't get trying to cheat the system just to get the commander you want when you could simply enjoy the game you purchased and get a chance for it to drop anyway. I mean I understand the limitations and frustrations with the system and I think overall it needs some tweaks, but this just seems silly to me. |
Thanks for the cast, guys! This was cool. I was literally yelling at the top of my lungs at the failed sturmtiger shot at the end. I waited sooo long for it! Also, should have been spamming S-Mines a lot sooner, but this was the first time I've actually played this commander. I lost that early flak which actually cost me some fuel in the early game. I want to see more unconventional strats being played, props to bas for not rushing the M15 like everyone else this patch.
For the record my comments in the beginning of the match regarding long live vcoh were meant to be sarcastic. I freaking love this game, and I was actually kind of taking a shot at Basilone for constantly bashing coh2, hence the "amirite".
