I use to build every buildings.I get 1Gr.1Mg,1GR.1Mg then sometimes a mortar before build the next tier, then I get a PZgr and a half-track,I use to group a GR with a Mg and a PZGR without the bazooka and go allover the map looking for infantry fights,Its a non competitive strategy I know, but I look for some fun, then I build the next tier. But as i never had enough Gaz,not even a stug.lol.Then I saw the Russian tanks coming,
If you're moving around with your MG's a lot, it gives the soviet player a chance to swarm you with conscripts. If you're building 2 Mg's, use one to lock down territory around your fuel point and the other to guard your cutoff point. Focus on just defending those 2 points and you'll be able to get a PIV out around the time a T34 hits the field. The key is not overextending your infantry and holding those two points. |
Skipping tier 2 is viable, depending on the situation as seen in recent replays from top players.
That being said, you're right that it seems safer and more viable in 1vs1 to go with a pak or two before jumping to tier 3. |
Sometimes i do it,and I know that many people use new commander ,i dont, and as a 47 years old man ,i cant learn much more,I even dont like the new maps, but till now,a month ago,i use to have some fun with the game, but not now.In the last game semosky map, both controlling one fuel point,my opponent gets 2 T34 before I get one P4,and as I spent some munitions to destroy his clown cars, not even a bazooka to my PZGr. Its frustrating.
Have you tried skipping tier 2 entirely? Don't build the building and rush strait for a PIV. Then back-tech to tier 2 and get a PAK or two. How many grenadiers are you getting? Three or more are generally required to keep enough map control. |
T70 should just have the same range as grenadier panzerfaust, making it take damage every time it wants to get in range (it would still cause model losses). As it stands, you can just run around the map unsupported, gibbing squads left and right. |
All of these changes are great! The change to scatter is major. Squad wipes from T70 and Ostwind will occur much less frequently now. |
A fun trick with soviets is to re-crew a support weapon with penal troops. Then, instead of reinforcing the weapon at the HQ, just merge conscripts with them. This will give you a support weapon whose crew all carry the SVT-40 rifle, giving them about double the DPS of ordinary conscripts and making them much more resilient to infantry flanks.
Things to remember when re-crewing and when using merge:
- Models re-crewing weapons maintain their stats and weapons.
- When reinforcing a picked up support weapon, the reinforcements have the same stats and costs as the squad type that picked up the weapon.
- Merging conscripts gain the weapon of the squad that they are merged to, but retain their armor stats.
- Penal troops and combat engineers are ideal targets for merge, as they both have models with the same armor as conscripts but are 50% more expensive to reinforce normally.
Thanks for the awesome tips! You should write a guide.... |
I think this is a great change and like the flexibility and diversity it allows for. It seems to create more reactionary play, as opposed to cookie cutter builds, and increases the importance of battlefield intelligence.
I think a lot of people are discouraged by this patch because it has reworked basic aspects of the game, but instead of changing tactics they still want to build their preconceived unit builds. That's why you see much of the whining on here of late. |

is everybody a winney little pussy on this site?all of the posts lately, are this is op that is op omg people grow some balls please ffs
This man has balls. But seriously, I'm not sure what the OP is calling for. It's a heavy tank that is basically mobile artillery and comes at a high cost. Flanking counters it. If you can't flank, get your own artillery or an elephant. |
I know that, thats one of the reasons why I don't know if I should call this doctrine "OP" or just "retarded" Or maybe both words would fit?
Let's not be juvenile and look at it rationally. The new commanders can be beaten with free commanders.
If he's going soviet industry place Teller mines in obvious places and get an early Pak. He also won't have the manpower to hold the map. Extend your manpower advantage with anti-infantry tactics. If you wipe a squad place down a single fuel cache.
With the Elite Infantry commander, he sets his tech back substantially because of the 20 fuel cost of vetting. He also opens himself up to vulnerability to anti-infantry tactics. There is no more super-unit vet anymore because of the recent changes. If he's vetted his infantry, get out a sniper or MG and rush Tier 3. You will be so far ahead of him in fuel that he might not be able to recover. |
Yeah, I agree that it does open a lot of doors - but am I the only one worried about the effect it is going to have on Soviet Industry? Seems like it would make it even more difficult to counter.
It's possible, but we'll have to wait and see. On the other hand, getting a couple of Paks out with supporting infantry is not as big of a problem. |
