It's great to hear from the developers what their intent and design goals are for each army. Re-assessing each army with the new expansion is excellent - can't wait to what, if anything, has changed since alpha. |
With the upcoming British forces we're seeing 3D models being released through Sketchfab. As so many players will be coming into the game, there is greater need than ever for in-game stats and a unit encyclopedia where these stats are easily accessed; wherein the 3D models would also be represented.
One of the biggest issues with COH2 has been holding on to the player base. Having unit stats available in-game would go a long way in retaining players. How many of us would have spent hours creating strategies in games such as Civilization, Total War, or Starcraft were it not for their great menus and encyclopedias? In that same vein, how many DOTA 2 players would have lost interest were it not for the great tool tip system in place?
I see this lacking feature as something that could not only make new players more comfortable and ease them into online play, but help retain players who want to be competitive, but haven't made that jump because they lack knowledge. I know that a unit database already exists, but it's convoluted, hosted on a separate server, and something that only a minority of players ever access.
Most of us on these forums are here because we play into that competitive mentality that likes perusing stats, creating interesting strategies and outwitting our opponents through clever tactics. I'm just asking that we have the necessary tools available to do so.

Welcome! |
On maps where US spawns to the south, please add a conditional clause that rotates the US base 180 degrees on the Y axis. This would allow quick access to weapon upgrades. |

One idea I had was that the mortar team actually shows its field of fire, much like an MG team. The constant need to re-position because the angle isn't quite right really slows this unit down in a way that dulls its effectiveness.
Firing smoke in a line is a great idea, and in combination with the above change, would allow you to actually make an infantry push or flank under smoke. And please, please fix the "no-fire" bug that's been lingering. |
Very interesting information on artillery and the incredible breadth of this mod, nothing but enthusiastic anticipation here! |
Can't wait for this mod, why even play vanilla when this comes out? |
You have not posted for two months,so you may be unaware of previous trolling by Tea Maker Machine. I am currently giving you the benefit of the doubt...just... the rest of us are well aware of Tea Maker Machine's antics.
Please try to keep up.
Absolutely, constantly refreshing browser and visiting this site daily now. Where else can I find such an abundance of condescending perspectives? But really, I was not aware and try to take people seriously even if they have "trolled" in the past. |
