Well, i mostly play 2v2 and av lot of Ost units, suffer against the increased amount of indirect fire and AT IMO.
And sorry, neither tiger nor ostheer t4 is in a "great" spot. Furthermore, ost lacks repairs and offensive infantry making it a pain in the ass
Yeah the only good thing about OH Panther is that it can have smoke and spotting scopes, otherwise OKW Panther is the best AT tank in the game. |
Don't forget poor old Grey Goo, although low player base also kills it. Also Wargaming but that game also suffers from lack of players. |

The faction concept seems interesting enough, would defintely give it a try. However, I think the Aggression & Defensive part in Tier 2 & 3 doesn't seem clearly different. At the last tier you can clearly see the diffence: A mobile tank vs a stationary tank destroyer, but in previous tiers, the two just seems fairly similar, not much seperable between them
I agree instead of Hetzer vs Marder, how about Hetzer and Flak 88? The Flak is the signature weapon of the Luft groundforces. |
Don't forget P4 with vet2 + smoke is practically unkillable, Allied tank can only dream of that level of scaling. |
Don't forget a very significant factor that rifles capped faster in coh1.
Also MG can't cap point while deployed either, 2-man pio, crappy Volk and no faust till T2 means your Jeep can harass with impunity. |
Again differences in army, Wehr needs MG because Volk is crap unless spam en masse or got supported by MG, also 2-man pios means Wehr needs to cap much more conservatively compared to Rifles with increase cap rate. Compared with COH2, OH got 4-man pios which can fight off Rifles and Cons in ambush, increased vision sight to help MG, much larger firing cone on OH MG to compensate for that SU got lol SC or Rifles need smoke, clearly you haven't seen the time when 4-man MG got normal acc received, MG spam is perfectly viable then, later throw in Elite Troop, vet 3 MG at 4 mins inside building is pratically unkillable without mortar.
Don't compare vCOH with COH2, different army, different mechanics, remember Von with Maxim spam, Sprice with RE spam/Cloud Car cheese? |
How did CoH1 players ever manage to deal with MGs without using a mortar? Oh wait, it's called being a good player and learning how to flank lel.
Alternatively, using Brit blob with lol charge Lt, or super Fire Up which gives no fuck to suppression. Also 3-man crew and narrower cone, not to mention vet purchase which means that vet2 MG would be a luxury. vCOH MG and COH2 are two separate thing. |
RE blob with flamers is best counter to Osttruppen cheese. With vet they are more cost effective than Conscript while having tons of utility. As OKW tries Luch rush or make your own Stg Volk blob. For OH double 222 + mortar seems to work for me: mortar bombard that lone Vickers guarding fuel than quickly relocate and bait the RE blob into your dual 222/Gren ambush. |
