Thread: Game Crash since 10.07 update11 Jul 2013, 12:01 PM Sorry this is not going to be helpful, have not yet played COH2 today since this new patch, so I'll report back if anything strange happens (or if not), but I can ask you, what graphics card do you have? As I have a friend who has a Radeon 3870 and his unable to play COH2 (except strangely for snow maps), it ALWAYS crashes on him, this is a problem with the game or graphics drivers for the Radeon 2,3 and 4 series when playing COH2, hope it get's fixed soon though. Thread: Hi from South Africa11 Jul 2013, 11:48 AM Just saying hi, I'm from South Africa, and yes we do have computers here , but I must say it was very hard for me to purchase COH2, went to the local mall, went to every PC gaming store, either they soled out or never got a shipment in to begin with (the one shop where you would expect to find this game said they only got in 8 copies of the game to begin with!), then, giving up on buying the game I decided to walk into a music shop, oh..there it is! Thread: AI depletes itself11 Jul 2013, 11:42 AM Jump back to quoted post5 Jul 2013, 14:44 PMDDay usually on the 2-4 player maps, the standard/advanced ai launches a somewhat coordinated massive attack with infantry, mortars, and tanks. this usually happens at about 10 minutes into a game. i've found that if you can beat this attack back with at and machine guns, the soviets seem pretty depleted and you can quickly take the whole map. you usually can tell they are hurting because T70's start showing up instead of T34/76. it's definitely better than coh 1 in terms of a challenge; but, once you figure it out... I must agree based on playing against easy and standard AI's, have not yet played against hard or extreme so can't say about them, but yet, about 10 minutes in the AI seem to launch an all out attack and then after that they get more quiet, maybe because by that time we have tanks and are ready to counter attack and thus not giving them time to build up another mass attack? I've seen a German AI bring a Tiger and Grenadiers etc, but after that all they brought was another Tiger tank and for infantry they started using engineers. However I also agree the AI of COH2 is much better than COH1, as I use to play against expert AI in COH1 and could pretty much beat them every time since they became so predictable. (note that I used barbed wire and tank traps to slow them down though), which in this game does not work, since you don't get tank traps anymore, but the barbed wire seems to work nicely for infantry since the AI does not know how to cut it for some reason. Thread: Graphics Comparison anyone? pls11 Jul 2013, 11:30 AM Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz 3 GB DDR2 (well, use to have 4 GB but since I realized I couldn't copy stuff without files becoming corrupt that changed..) ATI Radeon HD 5870 1920x1080 @ 60hz Image quality: High AA: Low V-Sync: off Texture Detail: Higher Snow detail: Medium Physics: High The game runs smoothly (I played with 3 AI's on my side against 4 other AI's and it was smoothly playable throughout), I however don't know what my FPS is as I tend not to look at those things else I might become obsessed with whatever it states, I just go by does the game run smoothly or not. ONE THING that bothers me though is the loading, not how long it takes to load a map but every time I click "start", it lag-ingly goes to black and then lag-ingly into the map, but after that it's smooth, this bothers me when playing online as someone always have to say "nice lag" or something like that, oh well I guess that's the part where my ram is lacking..if only DDR2 wasn't so expensive these days... Oh and it would be nice if there were more graphics options available like in COH1. In: Hardware and Tech
