It instantly loses a lot of its impact the moment a single AT gun appears, which makes it combined with the long setup time very hard to use beyond the early phases of the game. It also still has a lot of trouble with terrain blocking shots.
If it works it is obviously very powerful, but the American one seems more reliable and you will have to retreat your infantry against both vehicles if you cannot force it off quickly. |

Makes me think, would at least help if (Sturm)Pioniere would also get some ranged ability to detonate demolition charges, like a grenade, when they upgrade to sweepers. That would allow them to remove Demolition Charges on their own without suiciding themselves. Could have also a small munition cost attached if necessary. |

I belive you meant 90.
You are right, sorry. |

Well, if someone got wiped by demo while taking point it's not demo's fault.
Demos are planted usually in the middle of the point or next to obvious covers so why don't you cap the point at the end of circle, away from that obvious covers? It's so easy...
But I love the most players who are blobbing while taking points.
3 squads in the center of the point where demos is planted, are alway welcome
And by the way. Detect demo, throw a grenade and yes, you just disarmed demo!!
A grenade doesn't always destroy the demo for whatever reason, I have seen demolition charges which took 2 grenades to blow up.
And even if I have to spend "only" 30 munition every time to counter a demolition charge, which also requires me to always have one minesweeper squad (another 30 munition) walking together with a Volksgrenadier or Grenadier squad, as well as having my eyes on them all the time because those squads aren't going to do these things on their own and could get blown up at any time I am not watching (the Pioneer will also actually walk automatically towards the Demolition charge when standing still and detecting it, putting it at risk), it is pretty ridiculous.
Not everyone puts their Demo exactly in the middle of a capturing point from my experience.
edit: Corrected mistake. |
I do agree the panzer IV ausf J should be a non-doctrinal for OKW....it's a workhouse for Germany army.....
the sturm tiger rarely build or saw action but it remains a non-doc unit,I don't know which history book the faction designer read.
Ostwind is also very rare yet it is a normal unit in Ostheer. |
I don't know... Volksgrenadiere with StG44 upgrade would just overlap with Sturmpioniere and the MP40 is just terrible in the game. And then also putting in P4 and StuG III G (which would need rebalancing in the current state) along with full Fuel income would make it also awfully similar to Ostheer I feel.
What you say about the Luchs would make sense in terms of "authenticity", however it would overlap as a Scout with the Infrared Halftrack and I don't know how much use there is in a dedicated scouting tank. Usually the Puma should also be a scouting vehicle primarily, even if the weapon was very powerful for such a purpose.
Units like Wespe or Hummel could be cool of course.
Well, Relic won't do anything of this anyway. |
Good old Sniper. In some game I lately built a Sniper and what happens? Of course the first time a ZiS-3 took a shot from long range at my sniper it got hit and died |

The problem with most 'antiblob counters' in the game, I think, is that they do alright vs blobs but really excel against single squads at the same time. Like the old KV8, for example- good blob smasher, but where the real issue was was the ability to eviscerate any lone capping squad, on retreat or otherwise.
Even worse, take the Greyhound. The canister is nominally an anti-blob weapon, but what ends up happening is that it roves around the map and obliterates any squad on its own- meaning that the only way to prevent that is to loosely blob up and do enough damage to destroy the M8 before it gets close. It's counterproductive and in a way, forces you to blob up to counter it.
Same with demos- good against blobs, near guaranteed kill on solo squads. 120mm, good vs blobs, randomly wipes single squads anyway. Tiger, good vs blobs, oneshots squads at the same time. B4, good against blobs, good against solo squads, good vs tanks, good vs everything really
Yeah, this describes the dilemma well. Question is how can you fix it? |
I am surprised complaints didn't come earlier to be honest. It seems to be extremely precise even against moving targets. The results you earn with this in comparison to stuff like Ostwinds or other light tanks that cannot just stand far outside of range seems pretty competitive.
On other hand it is not cheap for basically a mobile mortar... so you would expect some good results out of it.
Maybe lower accuracy / AoE, but in combination with a cost reduction? Or maybe just lower velocity, so it is not as accurate against moving targets. I mean, look how slow the projectiles of a Brummbär are in comparison... |
Elite Armor Doctrine one of the strongest commanders? Well, each to their own I guess |
