I had a game yesterday where I outplayed my opponent (killed 2-3 PIVs with conscripts and AT gun, I went shock troops), decrewed and stole 3 MG 42s and eventually killed a tiger (I did get 2 T-34s by this point, but mainly to hunt Opel trucks) AND got an M5 with the AA upgrade (ZSU whatever).
Unfortunately, strafe just wins anyway. This guy was so confident of winning that he base-rushed me with 2 PIVs (one at a time), and both died the same way. The thing is, strafe just stops capping at crucial times, and makes the infantry engagements incredibly one-sided to the point where the Ostheer player merely uses their infantry to cap..
But I don't need to tell you guys this as you already know if you have been on the receiving end of strafe. My M5 did manage to take out one plane out of the three that arrived, and I probably could have just edged out a victory, yet I got too frustrated by it. Not raging, just annoyed that I was playing my arse off and this guy was just a-moving.
I guess that's something I can work on, but as a Soviet that pretty much only goes t2-t3 with shocks, I can't win against a decent Opel blitz player, and am about 50-50 with players far worse than me, as long as they use that commander. |
It will be pretty similar to the ISU-152 then though Nullist, albeit with far less range (unless they make the turret actually rotate, rather than essentially be an assault gun, as it is extremely slow and my major gripe with it). |
1.As you already stated, Panther has 960HP, but T-34/76 can only deal 80damage/shoot . 960/80=12(penetrated), SU-85 has 160damage/shoot, 960/160=6 shoots (penetrated)
6 penetrated shoot from a T-34/76 or 3 penetrated hits from SU-85 will kill a Panther in your dream., you've failed all your math courses since primary school aren't you?
2. T-34/76 has 45mm 60° slope upper hull armor, and T-34/85 has 110mm turret front armor.
as you are doing "GREAT" in your mathematics, 45mm/sin30°=90mm>80mm(PZIV) , of cuz you won't understand that.
3.using 2*T-34/76+AT nade vs. one PZIV, doing a little math here(I knew you had a hard time in math, 240/95*2+125/25 vs.320/115. that means you dump 605MP/215fuel to deal with a 320MP/115FUEL(soviet T3 and ostheer T3 are having a similar costs to get), and your conclusion is T-34 is a little UP?

Win. T-34 variants are pretty good with vet, but very difficult to get there imo. By comparison to a pIV with vet 2-3 though, they are awful still ^^ |
Yeah it leaves it at about 1/4 hp. I had this complete fail manoeuvre on this winter 2v2 map (Rhzev?), where I used a scout car penal to get out behind an MG bunker, and toss a satchel. I backed up a bit and they just started to get in the car when the satchel went off. Hilariously it sunk my M3 (always forget what a huge radius they have), and killed 4/6 of my Penal Battalion.
Unfortunately, as you say, the bunker lived xD.
They are really fucking good at killing bad player's infantry in the late game. |

Hmm, my initial thought is that it'd take a good while to rebalance the multiplayer in terms of tech cost/time and how many units can be built per building. Also it would push games to even greater lengths, which may be a turn off for some. |
Exactly, most artillery has short enough range (BM-13/Panzerwerfer/mortars), that if he can hit your base, he must have the whole map. Howitzers can't shoot that often and are fairly inaccurate, and off-map requires line of sight (either a further muni dump, or being in your base with a tank etc.)

Haven't watched the replay as it sounds like a snooze fest, but 6 120mm mortars is a hell of a lot of manpower, and very vulnerable. You should have gotten scout cars or a flammenwerfer and punished the shit out of it.
Also, artillery of your own is not good enough versus more than 1x120mm mortar, the above is the "counter", that or an Ostwind, but the Soviets would be more likely to field hard AT by then.

lol when you want to have a creative endgame then just play creative .My favourite tactic in the moment with ostheer is a elefant rush because soviets always get the su 85.YOu just have to use the fact that a lot of players use standard tactics and then counter them with a creative tactic.Then players will have to play differntly and the endgame becomes more creative nad fun.Standard tactic P4 vs Su 85 Tankhunter vs Tank LOL really ?not very clever ?
Rushing an Elefant sounds quite transparent though, i.e. you would be spending no fuel yet aggressively capping them. Not quite sure how I'd deal with it when it came out though. Thankfully I tend to go t2-t3, so I would at least be able to ram it |
