I see the point of a top-tier balance forum, but how many of the top 200 players are just biased, flavour-of-the-month abusers that don't want their strat nerfed? It's not an easy thing to fix by any means. In: Site Feedback |

Man is it funny reading about how to play Soviets in the new patch from people who literally do not play Soviets. It isn't even deniable right now. Grenadiers are winning almost every engagement. Rifle nades are doing way too much damage. Stack on LMGs + G43s and the problem gets worse. Conscripts are nearly useless in anything except utility of AT nades, forcing builds with penals + guards/shocks. I adapted immediately to the changes of the new weapon profiles (thanks vCoH), and honestly it is a gigantic step in the right direction, but it is completely obvious that the early game balance needs equally gigantic fixing from such drastic changes. People can joke about the current effectiveness of G43 Grens ----> Tiger Ace, but it is actually a viable strat at the moment. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: Penal Battalion anyone?9 Mar 2014, 21:30 PM
1. Any strat using penals that has to rely on conscripts is ineffective, considering the need to tech for molotovs/AT nades to make the unit half decent. Also keep at range but flank? Choose one. 1.1 Merged models don't get SVTs, so that apparent high DPS that can somehow take out G43s Grens (Really, try Penals sometime, they can't) isn't happening with merge. Regardless, it is completely obvious that Penals are an overpriced, underperforming unit. I've been playing with them solely for the past two weeks daily, and you either give up a ridiculous amount of map control, or you rely on a similarly underpowered Partisan doctrine, you are at a severe disadvantage using Penals instead of typical PPSH conscript spam. IMO the vetting ability is still pretty broken. Vetted troops are really not that much of an investment when they grant you engagement victories and therefore map control. Shoehorning into an already weak T1 because of a single doctrinal ability is quite silly too. Vet 2 Pgrens are completely ridiculous due to their buffs right off the bat. |

As much as I agree with some of the qualms here, it seems that the recent outcry over the ability is because of Advanced Warfare and its stupidly good overall abilities. Nerfing this directly affects already sub-par commanders, such as NKVD and Partisans (please, don't nerf my partisans ![]() In: COH2 Balance |

Do you even remember how broken the hellcat and kangaroo carrier were? You can't keep being condescending to the OP if you start pulling things out of your ass. In: Lobby |

Just read about 8 pages, heres my two cents. Toxicity in the streaming community? I don't see it. By no means am I a big caster, but I've had positive interactions with a lot of other streamers like JaminRock, Siberian, HelpingHans, and NorthWestFresh. Apart from the incidents back at launch that we all know of, I haven't seen any animosity, and especially no shit talking between any of the mentioned streamers, ever. I can appreciate the tips on short content. It's a nice tip for fledgling streamers to get some exposure (see: Sib's highlights on coh2.org like the "Mancum" stuff). I just want to add my thoughts on the whole DLC business. I really appreciate Noun for finally addressing it on some level. Nothing irritates me more than having seen absolutely zero comments from developers on our gripes with DLC. I understand the SEGA influence, I understand the NEED for P2W commanders. The only recommendation I'd like to make on future premium commanders is to keep them more like the Partisan commander. That is, not inherently broken, but super fun to play. Having my friend purchase that commander for me has led to me streaming almost daily about how much fun I am having with Partisans. Commanders like Soviet Industry and Elite Troops, which destabilize the game immensely, should be refrained from in the future. Though, I know SEGA has the ultimate say, so I can't really blame Relic too much. Overall, CoH 2 is in a dangerous state. Player counts are low, twitch viewers are paltry, and more people are leaving due to DLC. Like others have said, ask me 5 years ago what I thought about CoH, and I would argue to the death about how it is the best game of all time. Ask me today, and I'll be hesitant to speak positively of it. Regardless, thanks Noun for addressing our complaints. In the past I've really directed my anger toward you for walking around what I perceived to be big problems, but your honesty in this thread is commendable. I hope the team at Relic keeps up this higher level of community interaction, rather than letting our anger fester among ourselves in the community. In: Lobby |
