Because diffrence for the sake of just being different withtout any thought is stupid.
I'm not sure where to go with your statement. Are you saying that my different opinion is stupid and that I didn't put much thought into it?
Or
Are you saying that Relic didn't put much thought into the design of the WFA's?
I'm not touching the first, but with regards to the second; I'd say that there was lots of thought put into structuring the different factions. Unfortunately there are still some issues with the balance execution. |
Is this question real?
Vielsam.
Your have to reatreat your troops from side to the base - very very looong road.
OKW or USF can laught at SU and OST since they can retreat to forward base and go back in 20sec while for OST or it's over 1 minute.
You can blob straight into HMG, retreat to forward point and 20sec later push again but from different side.
OST blob faces HMG, retreat, and it takes over 1 minute to go back.
It's damn obvious disadvanatge.
And it's bigger with every game mode.
You've missed my point. There is no reason why the faction can't have different features and play styles. They don't need to mirror each other. So what if the USF have an advantage in that way? I'm not saying that its all balanced, but there is nothing at a conceptual level that's egregiously wrong.
The same thing can be said for the Schwerer. |
All faction should have forward retreat point or none of the factions, that's quite simple.
Why? Where is it written that the factions should mirror each other? Where does this stop? Should an MG42 have a crew of 6? IMHO diversity in the faction design is a good thing.
Why shouldn't the OKW have a forward deploy-able building with a flak? (I'm not saying as is, but conceptually).
@ the OP: Is the Schwerer broken - no. Over performing - slightly. |
they've been quiet for like 3 months. how much of 'laying the foundation' do we have to sit through before we hear an actual announcement about moving the game forward? i.e. balance patch date, supply etc etc
I don't think the foundation stuff has any effect on what's delaying a balance patch. Whatever it is, I hope for every ones sake that its pretty spectacular. I've literally laid a house foundation, by myself, in less time than this construction is taking.
Generally I'm pretty forgiving of the team @ Relic, but I too am loosing my patience. |
Missed the European theater by 1 month, but was ready for WWII as a whole by a whole three
(Four if you count treaty signing as the end of the war, which happened between the US & Japan in September.)
Yes I know I'm pushing it, but feth it, I want to see an allied fraction that's allowed a genuine scary heavy tank for a change. Stale fraction asymmetry is stale. At the very least, make sure the Comet is included, that saw combat and everything.
Well if you really want to stretch it why not go to March 1991...
And the allies do have heavies, just not the Americans. The IS-2 is very scary. |
-Adjust the call in mechanism to make it less cost effective
-Increase the tech costing for WFA factions
-Tweak the MG42 to better deal with the DPS of a blob in the MG cone
Wait a month to see how the above plays out. The first 2 will completely change the game. |
sure, and then, Cruzz came and release his kappatch in 24 hours giving us a more balanced product....
You give too much credit to a mod that hasn't had widespread testing. If the kappatch changes had been officially implemented, somethings would be better, but I can guarantee that there are unforeseen issues issues.
Anyways....
Back on topic: Woot! We won! Yay, free stuff! |
It appears I may have been mislead by the title/post confusion as well. I may have voted incorrectly as I'm still not clear as to whether the poll refers to your post or title of the thread.
The SU76 should cost fuel. |
If the ability costs munitions, and had a reasonable cool down, I think your idea of vehicles being able to capture and fight is worth considering.
Most vet abilities give a benefit in trade for something; do I capture this point or spend the munitions on mines...
|
If I controlled the world I would:
Add a modifier such that infantry inside a MG's cone had their DPS reduced by a large %.
I have though about other fixes but, I find the problem is that once you increase the suppression and/or damage rates too much we face MG spam. I would keep the suppression and damage output on MG's the same such that you can split squads up to counter an MG. As soon as the blobs are unable to counter an MG from the front, people will adapt and the blobs will disappear. |
